I took a little trip to Molalla, (the town we moved from) to take my teenage son’s friend home. Generally, I believe a parent should at least come and get their kid if I provided the ride to go out of my way and pick him up in the first place. (20 miles away) This kid wasn’t EVER gonna leave! after the third night of him staying and eating us out of house and home…..I mean it is difficult enough to feed our own family……..I took him home.
I really have a hard time with people who take advantage of others financially or otherwise. I see it all around me all the time, and I’m just glad I was born a giver, not a taker. I get that from my mother, bless her heart.
So my girls are in Burns with their cousins, seeing first hand what haying season is all about. (And next year if they want to go to work at the ranch for a week, they can make great money doing so.) How nice to have that opportunity to work if so they choose. Hopefully my oldest, Jonathan, will wish to earn some money, too. The work is there if he wants it.
After dropping Jonathan and Keith off (Jonathan was spending the night there……and luckily Jonathan’s grandma lives a few doors down to check on them.) I then took my little one to the park where there were sprinklers spouting in a designated little water park area. Braxton was reluctant to get into the wter, but he enjoyed running from play structure to play structure climbing and going down slides.
I really enjoyed these tender moments with my sweet precious growing little boy.
