As much as I love the warmer weather of Summer, I hate the disgusting bugs that come with it! Fleas on my cats and dog, the armies of sugar ants that get in the house, and EEEK! Those horrible, scary wolf spiders that emerge from dark corners. And did I mention my fear of bed bugs that you just might find in hotels? I don’t even want to go there. I am getting all kinds of goosebumps just writing about this.
Yes, I get these freaky things in my house!!!!
When I found out about Nature-Cide All-Natural Pesticides and Insecticides I jumped at the chance to review for them! Nature-Cide is an all-natural insect repellent. Nothing poisonous. No chemicals or fumes, especially with my children and pets around.
About Nature-Cide (Taken from their website)
Nature-Cide™ is a 100% natural and highly effective insect, rodent and reptile insecticide/pesticide and repellent product line. The POISON FREE way to rid yourself and your family from all types of pests. Which include Bed Bugs, Fleas, Ticks, Ants, Cockroaches, Mosquitoes and a variety of reptiles and rodents. Nature-Cide proves to be an alternative to poisonous pesticides and insecticides which can have harmful effects.
In response to known health hazards, public outcry and consumer demand, the use of dangerous chemicals and other poisons is simply no longer tolerable in today’s society. “Chemical and Poison Free” has rapidly become the standard by which all future industry products will be measured, and traditional pest-control strategies will become ancient history. Nature-Cide is an effective chemical and poison free insecticide/pesticide and repellent product that has been tested around the world. It has been proven to kill and repel a multitude of different pests and is safe for all environments.
How It Works:
All insects breathe through their bodies, when they are exposed to the fumes of Nature-Cide’s unique formulation, they are quickly overwhelmed and their mental capacities are impaired. If no escape is available, they exhaust themselves to death trying to escape the fumes of Nature-Cide. It’s as simple as that! Enzymes are a class of proteins that greatly increase the rate of chemical reactions in an organism. The enzymes in our Nature-Cide products are designed to break down protein when they come in contact with a vast variety of insects. Insects like Bed Bugs, Lice, Scabies, Mites, Ants, Fleas and Cockroaches… are all made up of protein. Insects use enzymes to shed their exoskeletons, so when Nature-Cide comes in contact with the insect, it rapidly affects the exoskeleton of the bug by reacting with the protein. This results in premature shedding of its exoskeleton (molting … shedding its outer skin) resulting in death.
Although Nature-Cide products kill most insects, the effectiveness on rodents and reptiles may not be as drastic. When using Nature-Cide products as directed, most rodents and reptiles will become disoriented and will immediately elude from the treated area. The fumes of Nature-Cide effect rodents and reptiles similar to a person being overwhelmed by ammonia or swimming pool acid fumes. It becomes very hard to breath and you immediately leave the affected area seeking fresh air. So if you are using baits and traps to attract more pest to kill, STOP and use Nature-Cide and rid your home of the pests you already have. If Bed Bugs, Termites, Ants, Fleas and other pests are invading your home, Nature-Cide will eliminate and drive them out in a hurry…
I received samples of the following Nature-Cide products for my review: Bed Bug Spray, Indoor Pest Spray Outdoor Pest Spray and Flea and Tick Spray.
Bed Bug Spray
My Experience: I have a phobia of bed bugs when I go to hotels. I always lift up the mattress, and I closely inspect the bed for any thing remotely resembling a creepy crawler. I recently went to the beach with my family, and I brought my Nature-Cide bed bug spray with me. I went around the hotel room, meticulously spraying the carpet, the bedspreads and all of the bed linens just in case, because you really never know what kinds of bugs might be infesting the place, even if you cannot see them with the naked eye. I felt so much better after I sprayed our room, and confident that I was not using any harmful chemicals that may hurt my family.
Indoor Pest Spray
My Experience: We live out in the country and in the warmer months, our house receives many unwelcome guests. We have our share of sickening huge mammoth spiders that scare me to death, sugar ants, lots of houseflies, earwigs and sometimes wierd tiny, black shiny beetle things. The first thing I did when I received my Indoor Pest Spray was to spray each and every corner of our basement, working my way to the upstairs. My family actually commented that the house smelled great, like cedar. It has a very pleasant fragrance! I did discover two wolf spiders and I sprayed them directly. They immediately wilted themselves up into a little ball and I was able to grab them with tissue pretty easily (screaming the entire time, I’ll admit.) Anyway, I have not seen many bugs lately, and that is wonderful!
Outdoor Pest Spray
My Experience: This spray was designed to get rid of outdoor pests, and to keep them from getting in your personal space. The best part is, you can spray it all over around your home where bugs like to congregate and you will not harm your pets or children. We just put up our summertime swimming pool, and there were slugs all around the ground. I sprayed them and the area surrounding the pool. I also sprayed the grass and areas around our windows to discourage those dang bugs from trying to get in. It smells great!
Natural Flea and Tick Spray:
My Experience: I am thrilled with this spray! I have have a dog and a bunch of cats. My cats are outdoor pets, so we don’t treat them for fleas (even though they do have them) but they occasionally tend to get inside where they like to hide under beds and in closets. The fleas can definitely get out of hand, and then we are all covered in flea bites. I hate that! So, since this spray is all natural, I sprayed my dog as well as my two adult cats and four kittens. Sure, they were not too happy about it, but I certainly am! Now, if they do happen to get inside, then that is okay.
