The month of October is National Pizza Month. My family absolutely loves pizza and they would eat it every night of the week for breakfast, lunch and dinner if they were allowed. (I would, too.)
We were thrilled to get the chance to review some delicious Classico Pizza sauces. That meant my kids and I would be able to try our hand at making our own pizzas for our very own “Elevated Pizza Night.” We were sent three of Classico's delicious pizza sauces, Traditional, Fire Roasted and White to try out.
For our first pizza, we decided on using the Traditional sauce to make our favorite, Canadian bacon and pineapple. My little boy, Braxton likes to think he was the 'chef' for this one.
Our pizza turned out perfect!
My older son likes chicken bacon ranch pizza, so he and his girlfriend used the White sauce to create their masterpiece. Too bad they did not let me take a picture of their pizza before they ate it all! I did get to photograph this one slice, however. This pizza, too, was delicious!
I am the only person in my family that likes spicy pizza, so I made my very own Buffalo chicken pizza using the Fire Roasted Pizza sauce. It turned out so delicious! Best of all, I got to eat most of it myself. Here is my recipe:
Buffalo Chicken Pizza:
1 cup Classico Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce
10 ounces chicken, shredded
1 cup shredded, smoked cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup crumbled gorgonzola
buffalo wing sauce or your favorite hot sauce for drizzling
Preheat over to 375.
Roll out pizza dough so it fits a pan – I use with a square baking sheet or 10-inch round pan. Spread Fire Roasted Sauce over dough. Top with 1/2 cup each of cheddar and jack cheeses. Add chicken on top, then remaining cheeses including parmesan. Add crumbled gorgonzola on top, and drizzle buffalo wing sauce or your favorite hot sauce all over your pizza. Yum!
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
