Jellyfish are becoming the next trend in ornamental aquariums and Jellyfish Art is the leader in supplying live jellyfish and their specialized aquariums and products. Their mesmerizing forms and soothing movement create living works of art. Jellyfish aquariums are a new kind of interior decoration, sources of light and life that become the focal point of any space.
Background
The first jellyfish exhibits opened in public aquariums several years ago when scientists first discovered how to display jellyfish in captivity using tanks with special water flow patterns. These beautiful exhibits have been wildly popular and now jellyfish are found in virtually all the public aquariums. It was clear people absolutely loved to watch jellyfish, but nobody had made the necessary tanks and food to allow people to own them as pets. After some tinkering and experimenting, Jellyfish Art started selling jellyfish tanks, food and jellyfish through a simple website. It was immediately apparent that people had been wanting their own jellyfish as they started purchasing jellyfish tanks. Jellyfish Art took off from there.
New Technology
Jellyfish cannot go in a regular fish tank because they will get stuck in corners and sucked into filtration intakes. Jellyfish Art's signature Desktop Jellyfish Tank has the right water flow pattern designed to keep jellyfish healthy and properly displayed. We also make a frozen food high in fatty acids made specifically for jellyfish. Jellyfish Art keeps jellyfish in stock at all times so customers have a reliable supply. We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and a simple, fun online shopping experience.
I received a Jelly Fish Art tank to review in my home. I was so excited to get it set up! My family was thrilled, too. We have had many different kinds of pets in our household, but never in a million years did we think that our menagerie of creatures would include jellyfish!
My Experience: The tank was very easy to set up and to put together. It was nice because my husband and teenage son took a great interest in setting up the tank. It became a family project. I decided to go to a pet store and purchase my salt water already mixed. (Next time I will probably buy the aquarium salt and mix it myself, but I was excited to get my tank ready for the jellyfish which would arrive in the next day or two.) After the tank was ready, I simply went to jellyfishart.com to redeem my jellyfish. (They usually will arrive in the next 12-24 hours after you redeem them, but mine were on backorder.)
When the jellies finally arrived a couple of days later, I was amazed to see that they came in a small box. (Good thing I looked at the label, or I may have thought it was a Christmas gift that I had ordered for one on my children and tucked it away in a closet.) The box contained some heating pads (to keep the jellyfishe's water warm) and a small bag with three live, thriving jellyfish! My husband and four children gathered around to watch as I carefully opened the plastic bag and gently poured my three new creatured into the warm water of my tank. My family and I were just mesmerized watching these beautiful, peaceful creatures as they gracefully swam around their new home. It was fun to change the colors of the lights with the remote and to watch the jellies as each hue illuminates their transluscent bodies into brilliant works of art.
Feeding them is fun, too. My daughter poured some of their food into a cup and mixed it with some salt water (according to the directions.) She used the feeding baster to suction up a bit of the food, and then postioning the feeding tube right under the jellyfish, she squirted out a little for them to eat. It is amazing to watch the food cling to their legs and make its way up through their clear bodies. Feeding them is easy to do, and very entertaining.
Jellyfish Art tanks are not only fun to have and peaceful to watch, they are great conversation piece. I had guests over this afternoon who were facinated that I had jellyfish because it is definitely not something that you see everytday in somebody's home! They are truly a beautiful work of art to liven up the decor in any room.
This photo does not do this tank justice. It is so beautiful!
