Here Come the Octonauts!
Dive into the New Year with everyone’s favorite underwater explorers, the International EMMY-nominated Octonauts, and join them on their mission to “explore, rescue and protect!”
Octonauts, now airing on the Disney Junior block of the Disney Channel, is taking America’s preschool set by storm. Working closely with NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), and advised by a team of marine biologists, Octonauts features fast-paced, high-peril action grounded in scientific discovery and true-to-life exploration of the natural world.
The Octonauts live in an undersea base, the Octopod, where they go on adventures with the help of a fleet of aquatic vehicles. Led by a valiant polar bear, Captain Barnacles, and a daredevil kitten, Kwazii, these eight talented critters are always ready to embark on exciting new missions!
In the six-episode Here Come the Octonauts DVD, Captain Barnacles must figure out how to free an old friend who is trapped beneath the ice; Kwazii tries to rescue a reef full of creatures before an undersea storm strikes; and Peso, the resident medic, must help a school of frightened fish who have invaded the Octopod! Based on the books of the same name by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy, who write under the name Meomi, the Octonauts received a BAFTA nomination for Best Animated Preschool Show in 2011 and 2013; and in October 2012 was nominated for an International EMMY Award.

My Experience: My son, Braxton absolutely loves the Octonauts! He was extremely excited to receive his Here Come the Octonauts DVD. In fact, he brought it with him to Grandma’s to share with his many cousins who were visiting after Christmas and they were all thrilled to be watching it. It kept all of the little ones (ages 8 and younger) nice and entertained as they watched it over and over again. The Octonauts are very cute and engaging characters that definitely appeal to youngsters!
