At my house, my kids devour cereal like it is going out of style. I am always worried, however about the chemical additives, artificial flavors and colorings as well as the high sugar content in those cereals. I am also concerned about the actual nutritional content these so called 'breakfast cereals' are providing for my children's growing bodies. Are they just consuming empty calories?
I was excited when I was given the opportunity to review Bitsy's Brainfood Cereal.
Bitsy's Brainfood was started by two new moms who shared a simple belief — that healthy bodies and healthy minds are connected, and that learning to eat smart should be fun.
The fact is that certain foods are smarter than others. So the idea was to create Bitsy's Brainfood, a line of smart snacks… bite-sized treats and cereals packed with the good stuff to help support developing bodies and brains, like vitamins and Omega-3, and packaged with content that's educational and oh-mega cool.
I was sent 3 boxes of Bitsy's Brainfood cereals to review. The flavors are: Banana Squash Squares, Fruit & Veggie 1,2,3 and Carrot Raisin Crunch.
Banana Squash Squares ~ I am a fan of banana and squash separately, and surprisingly they are delicious as a combination as well. This cereal has a mellow, sweet banana flavor. We add a little honey to it and my children love it.
Fruit & Veggie 1,2,3 ~ These were my youngest son's favorite. They are made in fun letters and numbers shapes and they taste yummy and fruity, kind of like Fruit Loops, but of course much less sugar, and no artificial flavors or colors.
Carrot Raisin Crunch~ My teenage daughters love this cereal. It is hearty and very satisfying, plus delicious and crunchy.
Win! One winner will receive 3 boxes of Bitsy's Brainfood cereals: Banana Squash Squares, Fruit & Veggie 1,2,3 and Carrot Raisin Crunch (Retail Value: $17.00)
