Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. Aimed at introducing women to new cosmetic products and educating them on best practices, Beauty Box 5 scours the market to find the best products for your lifestyle.
I received the February 2015 box and as usual, my daughter, Kendallyn, tore into it first. Kendallyn scooped up her favorites from the box and whisked them away to her bedroom. I reminded her that she needed to leave a product or two for her sister, Myelie, who wasn’t home from school yet. I just love that girl. She is as crazy about beauty products as I am. Who can blame her?
There is always a theme for each months box. This month, Beauty Box 5 is celebrating their 3rd birthday, so everything in the box was centered on celebrating.
Here are the products I received in this month’s box and my thoughts about each one:
Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting – (full sized)
This superfine organic mineral shadow is easily blendable and gorgeous!
This eyeshadow is a beautiful frosty shade, perfect for highlighting the brow bone. I let Kendallyn have this one because she truly knows how to use it correctly in a way that makes her eyes pop. Also, I tend to have an allergic reaction to certain brands of eye shadow, so I have to be careful.
Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel – (full sized)
Revlon is an excellent brand and my daughters are nail polish junkies, so this product is definitely a winner if my girls will share it! (I hardly wear nail polish, so they can go ahead and fight over it lovingly between sisters.)
Absolute Love Bubble Gum Lip Balm – (full sized)
This lightly tinted, creamy, conditioning formula softens, smooths, and protects lips for a seriously kissable pout. Discover this must-have duo for sensationally soft and luscious lips!
I opened up this cute tin of lip balm and it smells so yummy, like bubble gum! It has a pretty pink tint to it. Kendallyn passed this lip treat on to Myelie because Kendallyn’s lips are very sensitive and she is only able to use plain Vaseline on her lips. I would probably have used this balm, but I wanted Myelie to have it. I’m glad I gave it to her because she loves it!
Avon Big Color Eye Pencil ~ (full sized)
Wow, I didn’t know Avon was still around. My mom used to always buy Avon and I tried my hand at selling it about 18 years ago. I was surprised that there would be an Avon product in my Beauty Box 5. Anyway, Kendallyn was excited to see this Big Color Eye Pencil because she is a huge eye shadow, eyeliner junkie. It wasn’t really my color or else I might have fought her for it.
GlamGlow Youthful Tinglexfoliate Treatment (sample packet)
Dang, I sure wish this product came in more than a sample size. I once reviewed for their company and they don’t even give out anything bigger than a foil packet for product reviews. Anyway, I do know that this amazing anti-aging mask is a favorite of make-up artists to use on their clients before appearing on camera. Glam Glow is a celebrity favorite and I know why. It feels completely luxurious and makes my skin look and feel gorgeous and radiant. I love Glam Glow! I did not share this sample with my daughters! No way.
Also in this month’s box was a $20.00 gift card to yourMinerals.com. It is actually just a coupon because there is nothing on the yourMinerals website that costs $20 or less, so I am not very excited about it and will probably not use it.
All in all, my Beauty Box 5 for February was one of the best I have seen in a long time! My girls and I were quite impressed.
