Gifting Fragrances for Him and Her
If you’re scrambling to get started on your holiday shopping and are looking to buy a gift that is both personal and luxurious, you can't go wrong with a new fragrance; however, this is often a difficult feat.
While everyone loves getting a new scent that smells divine and looks great on a vanity, fragrance choice is extremely personal and nothing is more subjective than sense of smell. To help my readers navigate through this fragrance-purchasing dilemma, I have (with a little help from friends) rounded up some of the biggest crowd-pleasers from FragranceNet.com and even pegged each to a different personality.
Fragrances for HER
The Fashionista - For the friend whose wardrobe you envy, Karl Lagerfeld ($45.99 at FragranceNet.com) will be the perfect accessory to all her fabulous ensembles as it was designed to echo the fashion icon’s edgy style, while still feeling classic. The new fragrance features notes of lemon, peach, roses, magnolias, plumeria, and ambery woody notes.
The Fitness Junkie - If your bestie is rarely seen without her Nikes or a green juice, Clean Shower Fresh ($51.99 at FragranceNet.com) features a soft and sexy musky floral scent that will perfectly compliment her fresh and healthy lifestyle.
The Party Girl - For the life of the party in your clique, 212 VIP Rose by Carolina Herrera ($92.99 at FragranceNet.com) features a blend of sweet and sensual notes like pink champagne and amber, making it the perfect finishing touch before a big night out.
The Jetsetter - For the girl with wanderlust-filled daydreams, Calvin Klein Reveal ($71.99 at FragranceNet.com) is a carefree and elegant fragrance that channels the scent of sun and skin with a strangely appealing salty accord, as well as powdery iris, ambergris, and musk.
Fragrances for HIM
The Dapper Dude - Tom Ford Noir ($132.99 at FragranceNet.com) is an obvious choice for the guy who stays sharply dressed and wants his signature scent to match. He'll appreciate how Tom Ford's blend of bergamot, violet flower, leather, and black pepper accents his suit and tie.
The Athlete – For the guy who is inspired by sporting and the thrill of competition, Paco Rabanne Invictus ($87.99 at FragranceNet.com) is the fragrance of a champion. This aquatic, woody fragrance blends the excitement of sport with dreamlike elements that celebrate victory and power.
The Modern Man – Designed for a man who is sophisticated and refined, Valentino Uomo ($86.99 at FragranceNet.com) opens with bergamot and myrtle, succeeded in the heart by roasted coffee combined with gianduja cream, on a rich base created of cedar and precious leather.
The Musician – For the rockstar in the group, Burberry Brit Rhythm ($41.99 at FragranceNet.com) is inspired by the exhilaration and adrenaline of live music and the electric energy of the crowd. The scent mixes electric notes of fresh basil verveina, spicy cardamom, and a shot of juniper berries with black leather, patchouli, and cedarwood.
My favorite fragrance from the 'Fragrance for Her' collection above is the Calvin Klein Reveal. I love this fragrance because it reminds me of when I was a teenager. It goes on strong at first and I only need one spray. After a few minutes I am left with a beautiful feminine scent that lasts all day long and is not overpowering.
Calvin Klein Reveal is the first fragrance that I have worn in a long time that I have received numerous compliments on. My daughters love it, too. One of my girls has declared that it 'smells like the mall, but in a good way' because they love shopping. The bottle is really elegant looking, too. I love it!
