Did you know your favorite birthday spot as a child is celebrating a birthday of its own this year? On May 19th, Chuck E’ Cheese’s will be celebrating its 40th birthday at locations around the country with an attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the most birthday blowers blown simultaneously.
Each participating location will offer free cake while supplies last, 40 free tickets with a $5 minimum purchase and birthday blowers to get the party started. The stunt will take place at 7:40 p.m. CST / 8:40 p.m. EST.
The first Chuck E. Cheese’s store opened in 1977 in San Jose, CA. Since then, the iconic family entertainment brand has made numerous changes including adding new, more adult-friendly menu items but remains America’s number one place for birthdays. Most recently, Chuck E. Cheese’s launched a program for children and families impacted by autism, called Sensory Sensitive Sundays. Throughout 40 years of the brand’s existence, Chuck E’ Cheese’s continues to be Where a Kid Can Be a Kid.
I have attended many birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese’s as a child. I even remember when the mechanical characters were kind of scary! Regardless, many happy family memories were made there.
Each one of my own children have celebrated at least one birthday at Chuck E Cheese’s, too. We have many a photo of a tearful child hiding their faces from the costumed mouse. Regardless, I STILL LOVE going there. I think their pizza is amazing.
Most of my babies are grown up now, but thankfully, my youngest, Braxton still loves Chuck E Cheese, and we are planning to go there on Friday!
