Three Shows to Binge Watch on Netflix To Suit Your Mood!
Netflix has become one of the biggest producers of high quality original shows over the past five years. Where we used to love the streaming service for giving us access to loads of movies and complete TV series for a low monthly subscription cost, these days the third-party content on Netflix takes a back seat to the shows they actually make themselves.
With a wealth of great new series in the pipeline for release in 2018, as well as new seasons of popular Netflix shows like Jessica Jones, Troy, Arrested Development and House of Cards, it looks like it’s going to be another great year for Netflix subscribers, and you only have to check out netflixguides.com to see the huge volume of stuff, from classic sitcoms to Bollywood, documentaries to blockbusters, to find something great to watch whenever you’re in the mood to relax.
Here are three original Netflix series from the past 12 months to get engrossed in, no matter what sort of viewing experience you are in the mood for!
Want a Dark Horror Comedy? Try The Santa Clarita Diet
While The Santa Clarita Diet is a very funny show, it is not for the faint heated. This quirky show stars Drew Barrymore as a wife and mother with a teenage daughter, who one day, while working in her job as a real estate agency, spontaneously dies. This is not the end for her, however. This is a story about a family learning to live with a zombie who needs a very specific diet, and the complications of living next door to two cops when you eat human flesh.
The premise is funny, there are some genuinely tense moments of drama, and the characters give the show some heart, but there is no small amount of blood and gore so be warned!
Want a Mystery with Plenty of Drama? Try 13 Reasons Why
13 Reasons Why was one of the most talked about new shows of last year. The premise is that a teenage girl commits suicide and leaves behind tapes for 13 people explaining their role in why she did it. It sounds sad, and it is, but the revelations about her story that you pick up as you go through each episode make for a gripping and innovative storytelling experience.
Want a Fun, Uplifting Show with a Great Retro Soundtrack? Try GLOW
GLOW is a show about an unemployed actress (played by Alison Brie of Community fame) who ends up with a role on a female wrestling show, along with a cast of other women who also don’t know anything about wrestling. To add to the drama, another member of the crew is her former best friend, whose husband she’d had an affair with.
Set in the ’80s, this is a show packed with nostalgia as well as humor, drama and action!
So there you have it, three suggestions for great Netflix shows you can enjoy right now! All of these shows are on their first season, but are likely to have second seasons released in 2018 so you shouldn’t have to wait too long if you get hooked!
