Happy Mother's Day!
Today was a great Mother's Day! I am just happy because I have four wonderful children whom I have the priviledge of being a mother to. In fact, I have one of them all cozy sleeping on my lap, my little Braxton, who told me '" Mommy, it's not Mother's Day, it's 'boy' day!" (Meaning, Braxton Day.) So, I got him some candy. I mean, why argue with a three year old?
Okay, so we went to church. All the children, 12 and younger were supposed to go up to the front and sing a lovely Mother's Day song, but right before I realized it, my 12 year old excused herself to go to the restroom (She knew exactly what she was doing......getting outta there so she wouldn't have to sing......clever girl!)
And Braxton got a bloody nose from picking it at that specific moment as well. Oh, well!
Anyway, on Mother's Day, it is a time to reflect on my own sweet Beautiful Mommy. I am blessed with the most wonderful mother God could have ever given me.
My mother is incredible and amazing. She has seven children and almost 20 grandchildren.
One of the most impacting lessons my mother has taught me is to 'endure.' She is very fragile, yet as tough as nails to put it mildly. When life gives her lemons, my mom doesn't 'make lemonade.' Nope, she THROWS the lemons right back with a vengeance. She also has the most incredible sense of humor. My mom and I get through rough times with laughter. In fact we share a sense of humor that not many others could really understand.......but heck, it gets us through.
Most importantly my sweet angel mother has taught me about love and understanding, dedication, faith and giving.
I hope I can demonstrate those attributes to my own children as well as my mother has done and continues to do for me.
I am truly fortunate to have the mother that I have, and the family that I have. I love you, Mommy!
Well, I shall try to go to bed now....my little child needs to go night night in his own little bed:) He's drooling on me. Goodnight!
