Struggling to find a costumer this year? There are so many choices yet so little time to put something together. One option that never fails is Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. This is such a classic look and your outfit can be put together very easily! However, the most important part of the costume is the hair. See below for a step-by-step tutorial on how to get hair like Dorothy.
First, begin by dividing hair into two sections down the middle. Spray hair with a generous amount of KMS California HAIRPLAY playable texture ($19.99) to create re-workable texture in the hair. Take the first section and begin to twist hair along the front down to the top of your ear.
Once you have the twist in place, begin to braid until about halfway down the pigtail. Secure with a Scunci No Damage Poly Band ($3.99) and tie a small light blue ribbon into a bow around the elastic for Dorothy’s look. Repeat on opposite side.
(KMS California HAIRPLAY playable texture is the best texturizing spray I have ever tried! I also use it to give my everyday hair a little sexy lift.)
Next, take your John Frieda by Conair Loose Curls 1 ¼ Inch Barrel Curling Iron($29.99) and begin to curl the ends of each pigtail. This will create a full look on each side.
Finish with a spray of Philip B. Jet Set Precision Control Hair Spray ($30.00) to lock in your style. (I absolutely LOVE this hair spray! It holds better than anything and my hair still feels soft afterwards!)
Finally, click your heels together to really get in the “Dorothy” spirit this Halloween!
