A Family, Beauty, Health and Lifestyle Blog
Spring is here! That means it's time to start planning and planting your garden if you haven't already. When you are watering your garden, (or your lawn) it is important to have a high quality hand sprayer to make it easy to get everything perfectly watered.
My favorite piece of watering equipment for my garden is my Gardenite Hand Spayer Nozzle.
Here are the details of the Gardenite Hand Sprayer:
HEAVY DUTY AND ROBUST - Made of solid metal with baked enamel finish. This nozzle is designed to last. Robust metal construction with a baked enamel coating, this sprayer not only looks polished but is robust and much stronger than plastic water nozzles. The baked enamel gives it a strong durable finish that looks attractive and prevents rust.
10 WATERING PATTERNS - For Every Watering Need. Weather you need the high pressure jet to clean the hard surface or the soft shower to wash the dog, the 10 patterns have you covered..
ERGONOMIC SOFT RUBBER COMFORT GRIP - Means comfortable spraying. Your Hand Won't Tire. The soft rubber coating makes this nozzle very comfortable in your hand so you can water for long periods of time.
FLOW CONTROL KNOB - Flow control is absent on inferior hose nozzles. Having control of the water pressure means that you can adjust the pressure for each of the 10 spray patterns. One common problem with low quality nozzles is that they significantly reduce your water pressure. This results in a pitiful spray pattern rendering the nozzle virtually useless for many watering tasks. This heavy duty nozzle has flow control adjustment. Choose from a high pressure jet to a soft delicate shower.
My thoughts: I am very happy with my Gardenite Hand Sprayer Nozzle. It is very sturdy, and I can tell that it is a very high quality product. It has been raining non-stop this past week, so I haven't had the chance to put it to use, but I did get to try it out. I am fascinated with the ten different spray settings that I can use for different tasks, such as gently watering my newly sprouting garden, to washing my car as well as my dog!
I appreciate the comfortable soft rubber grip, because one of my favorite things to do when the weather gets warm is to sit on a lawn chair and spray my son, Braxton as he jumps on the trampoline! He loves it, but sometimes my hand gets sore as I spray him, so this comfort grip is perfect!

A Garden For All The Family
The garden: a sanctuary of calm, backyard allotment, basketball court, outdoor dining area, pet play zone or flower garden! A family garden is likely to have to be at least a few of these - but how do you ensure that your garden works for everyone in your family? Whether you have acres of land or a small space, it is possible to make a garden that everyone can enjoy - you just might have to get a bit creative in the process.
Start With The End In Mind
The first stage to any big home project is planning! What do you want to use the space for? Is it important that you have a lawn area or flower beds? Do you want to include a tree house or mud kitchen for the kids? How about a patio or a water feature? Once you've got a list of everything you'd love to have, narrow it down and get it in priority order - chances are that unless you live on a ranch you might not have room for everything on your wish list.
Next comes the fun part: getting creative and deciding how to put it together! Be sensible and think about your adjacents - if you have kids who love to kick a ball about then the best place to put flower beds would not be next to a soccer goal. You could however, have a beautiful flower display using hanging baskets or window boxes that will be a safe distance away from any flying balls! Think too about what could do double duty - according to the National Association of Homebuilders, a patio area is one of the top ten things homebuyers look for: it provides a great space for entertaining, but if you choose your furniture wisely (maybe something that is foldable, or on wheels so it can be easily moved) you may be able to double it up as basketball court, or as a space for younger kids to ride their bikes.
Something For Everyone
A garden needs to be practical if you have kids, but don't forget to include a few features for the grown-ups too - whether that's a swing in a shady corner or a water feature to provide soothing background noises which helps you relax. A vegetable patch can be great for the whole family - aside from the potential money saving, there's a lot of satisfaction to be gained from eating food straight from your garden. It also provides a valuable learning experience of where food actually comes from, and it may even encourage picky eaters - it's amazing what vegetables kids will try when they've grown and picked them themselves.
Keep It Simple
Remember that when designing your ideal garden, planning is key! Focus on your priorities, keep it simple and combine ideas to ensure that you create a garden that the whole family will enjoy for years to come.
In Oregon, where I live, it always seems to be raining in the spring. I yearn for warmer weather when I can plant my garden, but that probably won't be for awhile. Until then, I can enjoy healthy and delicious food that I can grow myself in my kitchen with Back to the Roots indoor gardening sets.
Back to the Roots was founded by two young men during their last semester in college. What started with urban mushroom farming in Oakland, CA has turned in to a fun line of Ready to Grow and Ready to Eat products to help reconnect kids and families with their food.
Sometimes, we want to grow food ourselves, taste the absolute freshness, and show kids how mushrooms or herbs grow. And at the other times, we're busy, running out the door, and we just want to eat something - like breakfast cereal - that's already been cooked for us. But we believe the underlying trust, transparency, and consciousness shouldn't change from the produce aisle to the grocery aisle, or from ready to grow to ready to eat. We believe in a future where all food comes from the kitchen, not a lab; and where R&D teams aren't biochemists, but our grandparents.
I got the chance to review Back to the Roots Organic Mushroom Garden Kit.
Grow gourmet, organic oyster mushrooms right out of the box in just 10 days! Just open the box, mist with water, and harvest 10 days later. The Mushroom Farm lasts for months in the box unopened, making a great gift item for kids, families, foodies & chefs! Includes:
- organic plant-based soil (can grow multiple crops!)
- oyster mushroom spawn
- spray mister
- BONUS: organic heirloom tomato seeds to grow with your composted mushroom kit
I was in awe of how quickly my mushrooms grew. They are so delicious and it is wonderful for me to know that my mushrooms are GMO free and organic. It has been the perfect science project for my son, Braxton to see how mushrooms grow. He never liked mushrooms before, and now he loves them!

I need to plant my garden, but alas, it is raining. Man, I should have done it last week when it was sunny, and then today it would simply be getting watered!
Oh, well, I don't even have it tilled yet..............................................................................
On a brighter note:
Look at my boys!
