I am already very impressed with my first RivalGlam purchase! I ordered this beautiful beauty product set which includes products from top influencers including Katelynn Ansari, Cristal Garcia and Evelyn Lazado. How fun!
I love how elegantly packaged these beauty products arrived
Look at all of these beautiful nail shades. You have everything here for a gorgeous manicure, plus a rich and creamy hand cream for silky, youthful hands. I use the Tru Renewal Oil as a cuticle softener. I sometimes rub it into my cuticles. I have noticed that my cuticles really absorb the oil and my nails grow stronger, and thicker because of the nutrients in the oil. It is also perfect for taming flyways, or to smooth out last minute frizz in my hair.
The nail polish shades are perfect for all seasons. I love the top coats that really seal in the color for a long lasting finish.
I also received a pair of these gorgeous Evelyn White Gold Hoop Earrings, which I can't really wear just yet since I have a sweet baby grand daughter who would love to rip them from my lobes. They are very pretty, though.
Mother's Day is on Sunday! For as long as I can remember, I have always purchased my mom's Mother's Day gifts at Macy's. She loves their clothing, and so she is pretty easy to shop for. I have been a fan of Macy's department store for as long as I can remember. There is no place I would rather shop!
As if I needed one more reason to LOVE Macy's any more than I already do, I was excited to find out that Macy's offers a FREE personal shopping service that can help you find the perfect outfit, home decor, and gift ideas for that special somebody!
I understand that sometimes Moms can be difficult to shop for. Thankfully, my own mom isn't too hard to please, but sometimes I have no idea what to buy for my mother-in-law, my aunts or even my sisters, and I could really use some help.
That's where Macy's My Stylist personal shopping service comes in handy! When I first heard that Macy's offers this amazing service, I wanted to learn more about it first hand. So, this past weekend, my daughter, Kendallyn and I headed out to Macy's to see how My Stylist works.
This is my beautiful daughter, and shopping partner, Kendallyn
How can you book an appointment with Macy's My Stylist?

Or just plug in your location in My Stylist's handy new tool and click on the Personal Stylist button to book a one-hour Personal Styling session for Men or Women, or a one-hour Wardrobe Upgrade session. Every stylist is well-versed in all the product categories that Macy’s carries, everything from couches to clothing!
My daughter and I requested to be shown Mother's Day gift ideas, and when we showed up for our appointment with our fabulous stylist, Lori, we were beyond impressed with her warmth and her fun personality. We hit it off really well with her.
Lori truly knows what she is doing! She had several stunning arrangements of clothing items and household items in complimentary color schemes beautifully laid out and displayed for us. She took the guess- work out of selecting gifts and presented us with ideas that I would have never come up with on my own. Lori took her time to carefully explain to us how the Macy's My Stylist personal shopping program works. She made sure my daughter and I felt welcome, and answered all of our questions with ease. Her goal was to make us feel important and well taken care of.
Look at this silky robe and nightie set, complete with these adorable slippers. The handbag matches, too! And the swim suit, cover-up AND accessories! I'm in love! Look at all of these fabulous gift ideas!
I was completely in awe! Lori also had put together the cutest beauty gift ideas, too.
(Don't mind the sparkling water, those were for my daughter and me......shopping makes you thirsty! Lori thought of EVERYTHING!)
Every mom loves bath & body products, and Macy's carries the Origin brand, which I happen to love! The hand and body lotions make your skin feel like silk. They also have long-burning deliciously scented candles and richly lathering shower gels that make bath time luxurious!
And have you checked out Macy's jewelry? Whether you are looking for fine jewelry or fashion statement pieces of every color, Macy's is your place to shop! I am crazy about Lucky Brand necklaces (and all of their clothing!)
And have you seen these adorable mother/daughter bracelets? (Below.) Just seeing these pretty bangles got me all teary-eyed thinking of my precious baby girls who are now all grown up and married. These would be the best gifts ever to give to your mama for Mother's Day!
Not only did Lori give us some wonderful fashion, beauty and accessories Mother's Day gift ideas, there were also the best household gift ideas to fit every budget! Look at those fabulous cheese cutters and awesome tumblers! I was told you could serve hot as well as cold beverages in them. Who knew?
I love this tropical sofa pillow, and the happy sea-foam colored throw! The kitchen accessories are très chic, too! Can you believe that the flamingo item is actually a cutting board? I had to look closely at it. How cute!!!
Macy's certainly knows how to make their customers feel special, don't they? Fruit kabobs and macaroons? Yes, please! (There was actually a Mother's Day event going on at Macy's, but I'd like to think that it was all 'just for me.' Right?
All in all, I am extremely impressed with my Macy's My Stylist personal shopping experience. I truly loved meeting Lori and working with her. I am amazed by her talent of coming up with personable and highly fashionable gift ideas. I felt like she was a person I could trust to help me find exactly what I was looking for, and that she went above and beyond to make sure that my shopping experience exceeded my expectations.
I had a lot of fun exploring different gift options, and learning about some of the things that Macy's carries that I did not even know that they sold! I wish I had known about Macy's My Stylist shopping service before, as I would have definitely put it to use for several occasions in my life when I could have used somebody with the sort of expertise that Lori has.
I am definitely planning to book an appointment for Father's Day, so that I can have help in selecting the perfect Father's Day gifts for my Dad and my husband. I know I can't go wrong with Macy's My Stylist!
Check out this adorable purse that I may or may not have bought for my mom! Do you think she will love it?

I was looking for something cute for my sister-in-law for Christmas. Often times, plus-sized clothing is aimed at the older generation. I have found that most plus sized clothing stores do not carry many trendy or fashionable choices. When I discovered Alight clothing, I was very impressed with their huge selection of adorable clothing! I was given the chance to review an article of clothing from alight.com and I chose a stunning blouse for my sister-in-law. I chose the Royal Floral Top. The Royal Floral Top is so cute! It is made of high quality fabric and would go cute with a skirt or a pair of jeans or leggings.

Hold on, Christmas! I am not ready for you! Next pay day is on Christmas Eve and I am not done shopping at all. This wasn't the way I planned things. Tomorrow I turn 40, and that doesn't help me feel any better. Where did my youth go? It sure went quickly. I wish I had the Christmas spirit this year, but it has been nearly impossible to feel it. If I didn't have to worry about all of the shopping and lack of funds I would be free to focus on what really matters, but that isn't going to happen this year. My four year-old, Braxton has been such a little devil lately. Bribing him with "Santa's watching you" gets me nowhere. He screams, cusses, spits and tears apart the house all day. He is driving me utterly crazy. Any time I try to get onto the internet, Braxton is sure to get into some kind of mischief to ensure that I get right off. (Therefore, I haven't been able to update my blog as often as I like.) Oh, well! I hope everyone else has a very Merry Christmas!
You're Grounded FOREVER....But First Let's Go Shopping
A MUST read for parents of daughters.
This book hit close to home, as I am the mother of two daughter who are ages 12 and 14. This book tells about The challenges Mothers face with their daughters, and provides ten timely solutions.
From reading this book I gained a greater insight to how I am influencing my daughters, whether it be for their good, or whether it be something I need to work on changing.
The question does come up, for me as well............do I cave into their needs to much, do I make excuses for them.....am I being helpful or a hinderence?
Is it harmful to be my daughters' best friend' ?
You're Grounded FOREVER....But First Let's GoShopping is truly like a handbook for Moms. It takes you through issues such as:
- Defending our Daughters
- Lacking Limits
- Being Critical of your Daughter’s Appearance
- Fixations on Food and Weight
- Romantic Lives
- Fostering Independence
- Material Indulgence
I really enjoyed reading this book as it was an eye-opener to what is truly important in raising our daughters to be strong women in the challinging day an age we live in.

Today I took my sweet mother to the mall to TRY to pick out some dresses for the day of my youngest brother, Shaun's upcoming wedding Saturday the 17th. WOW! I am SO unprepared because I cannot find ANYTHING to wear! The color scheme is tangerine, watermelon pink and lime green. I don't look good in any of those colors, so I bought BLACK! I know you aren't supposed to wear black to a wedding, are you? It may be selfish, but I LOVE how I look in black. At least my skirt has the colors in it, and I found it on sale!
Onn the down side, I had to bring my three year old son, Braxton with me (and I did put him in a stroller this time) But......oh, my! He was terrible! He was screaming, howling, saying very naughty phrases out loud. It is IMPOSSIBLE to shop with Braxton. There has never been a kid like him on Earth!!!!! If so, I have NEVER seen one! I love him very much, but OUCH!
Anyway, I have not had the Internet for about a week, so I have been scarce on my blogging.................................................................................But I'll get back into the swing of things yet!
Boy, life has been busy from a motherhood point of view. I didn't really feel well this pastweek, but I managed the best I could. My husband, Jon went on his final salmon fishing trip of the season at the Deschutes and was gone Friday and Saturday. Fine and dandy, but I had to take my son and his new little girlfriend on their 'first date.'
I am actually glad that my year old son isn't driving yet, because that would just be another worry for me. He isn't pushing the issue (about getting his license) and so as parents, neither are we. So, for Jonathan's first date, he wanted to take his girl to the movies and hang out at the mall. Living out here in Estacada, however, means the nearest mall is 30 miles away. The movie they wanted to see was at 8pm and of course I didn't want to hang out at the mall for all those hours waiting for them, so I actually drove them to the mall at 5 pm and picked them up at 10pm. Lots of miles on the car, because I went back home to wait.
In a perfect world I would have stayed at the mall and shopped until I dropped, or leisurely browsed with my daughters. But, my toddler is a little demon who throws the world's most gigantic tantrums and I was already worn out.....plus no money to spend. That would not have been fun at all.
