Halloween is a fun and exciting time for kids, but a destructible and toxic time for their teeth. As a parent, how do you stop your child from partaking in the joy that is trick-or-treating? With the help of the 11th annual Halloween Candy Buy Back program, in which local dentists “buy” back kids’ Halloween candy in exchange for product packages, cash, or other incentives, Halloween can be enjoyable for kids, parents, and even US troops overseas!
This year, we want to promote a positive dental health message and hope to introduce kids to the great tasting, natural sweetener, xylitol. While most children enjoy the taste of regular sugar candy, it is neither good for the child’s oral health or body. Our product packages will be full of goodies including xylitol candy provided by Xlear Inc. which tastes great and is actually beneficial to your child’s health!

Believe it or not, February is right around the corner! Each year, the American Dental Association recognizes February as National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. The theme for 2015 is “Defeat Monster Mouth,” which aims to demonstrate effective ways for kids to defeat plaque and maintain good oral health by brushing, flossing, rinsing and eating healthy snacks.
This year, Xlear is working to educate children and parents on the importance of incorporating healthier snacks and better oral care habits into their daily routine.
There are great snack options out there for families looking to practice better oral care, such as SparX Candy from the Xlear brand. These sweet but sugar-free candies are made with xylitol, which keeps bacteria from sticking to teeth and forming plaque! In fact, studies have proven that when combined with regular dental hygiene, regular use of xylitol gums, mints and candy can reduce dental cavities by as much as 80%!
My kids and I love SparX Candy! Every time we go to the dentist I buy each of the kids a pack of this yummy candy for a treat. My favorite are the berry flavored. They are addicting. It is very hard to believe that they are good for you because they are so sweet.
For your little ones that struggle with brushing, the delicious and all-natural Kid’s Spry Tooth Gel offers less mess than brushing with toothpaste, along with the great, proven dental benefits of xylitol!
I wish the adorable Baby Banana Brush and Kids Spry Tooth Gel was around when my children were little. I always had to sit on Braxton and force-brush his teeth. I could only get the toothbrush in his mouth when he was screaming.
My little nephew, Wesley is sixteen months old and is the perfect age for these products, so I gave him the Baby Banana Brush & Kids Spry Tooth Gel Set (shown above) as a gift. He is cutting his first teeth, and Spry is helping him to learn to love brushing his teeth with a tooth gel that tastes great and a toothbrush that is perfect for chubby little hands and tiny little mouths. (See cute little Wesley below.)
