Rather than splurging on expensive creams and serums, there are simple DIY remedies to heal even the driest, irritated, and/or cracked winter skin.
Alexandra Whitcombe is the visionary behind Vendome Paris, a beauty and cosmetics line being created based on her expertise in both botanicals. After spending more than 15 years in the floral industry, Alexandra has truly learned the essence of nature and its connection to beauty.
Lavender: Harsh winter weather can dry out skin, causing it to break out even more than when it is oil. Dab a few drops of lavender oil on any pesky pimples to reduce redness and inflammation.
Marigold: To benefit from the anti-aging effects of marigold, combine cleaned marigold petals with ingredients such as honey and milk for a soothing DIY facemask to help plump up thinning and aging skin.
Chamomile: Tired and puffy eyes from your busy schedule? Moisten two chamomile tea bags in cold water and let sit in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes. Once removed, place over your eyes for 20-30 minutes to reduce puffiness.
Rose: To hydrate dry, irritated or cracked skin this winter, infuse water with rose petals to use as a facial mist or skin toner.
Aloe: Most people know how to use aloe on bad sunburns, but it’s also known to lessen the visibility of stretch marks. Apply aloe vera gel from a fresh plant directly to stretch marks to help heal those minor tears in the skin.
Alexandra Whitcombe is the creator and visionary spirit of Vendome Paris. After more than 15 years of experience in both beauty and botanicals, Alexandra has combined her carefully acquired knowledge of nature with her keen eye for cosmetics. The result is Vendome Paris, a family-run enterprise that brings beauty to life through innovation. Alexandra discovered an affinity for colors and textures at a young age.
As the daughter of a New York City model and a fine-arts aficionado in the 1970’s, her childhood was a swirl of gallery openings, ballet shows, and high fashion glamour. She grew up within the walls of iconic venues like the Velvet Underground and Studio 54. Alexandra found passion in this world to which she was born and belonged – modeling and ballet were her hobbies; fashion, art history and botanicals her fields of expertise.
After studying fashion at the prestigious High School of Art and Design, she earned a degree in Art and Art History, refining her intuitive eye for color and quality. Years in the floral industry taught her the essence of nature and its inextricable connection to beauty. Vendome Paris is the product of Alexandra’s background, her worldliness, and her scientific awareness. She personally sources materials from the highest-quality local vendors in Switzerland, France and Italy to create a cosmetics line that is technologically engineered to make women look and feel beautiful.
