GIVE THE GIFT OF GREEN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Innovative Fashion Designer Showcases New Sustainable Clothing Line
The holiday shopping season is now upon us, and many women are struggling, looking for the latest fashion trend while also purchasing a memorable present. Are you a shopper looking for a trendy holiday gift that is perfect for the environmentally conscious? Well, this season you are luck, because a fashion designer has created a sustainable clothing line for women and it is all the rage for those shoppers looking for a fashion forward gift.
We would like to introduce Sustain by Katherine Quigley – as it turns out, it is possible to own clothes that is good for the environment and you. In fact, this line is already receiving an enormous amount of buzz and even received 139% of their funding goal from a Kickstarter campaign! This is without question the perfect gift if you are looking to purchase a gift for your girlfriends who stay on top of today’s fashion trends, while also keeping the environment in mind.
“Most people do not realize that you absorb chemicals and pesticides right into your skin simply from just wearing your clothes,” says Katherine Quigley, Owner and Creator, Sustain. “I created the Sustain line to offer a better alternative. Our clothes are made from organic, natural fibers and we utilize safe, plant-based dyeing techniques. Most importantly, the Sustain line offers relief for those experiencing health and skin issues, or those simply wanting to be more proactive about their own personal health.”
The Sustain line showcases a fashionable line of women’s clothing consisting of plant-dyed, ayurvedic tops, including those specifically geared towards those with sensitive skin. While some shoppers shy away from purchasing clothes online, the size guide on the Sustain website, makes it easy to select clothing whether you are shopping for U.S. or International sizes. For the upcoming holiday season, shoppers are in luck, because Sustain offers a variety of shipping options which are perfect for the holiday shoppers who plan ahead, as well as those who procrastinate until last minute.
“ Please visit our website often, as we will be expanding our selections,” says Katherine Quigley, Owner and Creator, Sustain. “The feedback we have received has been phenomenal. I am thrilled about how well our sustainable, healthy clothing has been received and am excited to be a part of such a valuable, environmentally friendly project.”
I think it is scary that the clothing we buy may contain harmful chemicals that absorb into our skin, and especially into our sweet children’s skin. I was very happy to get the chance to review one of Sustain’s beautiful tunics. How exciting to be a part of a company that is still new, and will probably go very far! I chose the Shibori Tunic to review.
My beautiful daughter, Myelie fell in love with it. She is modeling it below.
This gorgeous tunic is very comfortable and stylish! It is hand-dyed using traditional shibori techniques using natural indigo for color. (Indigo dye is an organic compound with a distinctive blue color. Historically, indigo was a natural dye extracted from the leaves of certain plants, and this process was important economically because blue dyes were once rare.
This lovely tunic is made with organic cotton fabric, thread and labels. My daughter loves it!
