Beauty concepts drift in and out of popularity, but contouring, using cosmetics to create an almost 3D effect is here to stay. Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez are prominent examples of this concept, where their contouring makeup adds dimension to a base foundation tone.
There are a lot of contouring color palettes on the market, but the Perfection Contour and Beauty Makeup Blender serves novices and experts with fool-proof results because the tones are selected for any skin tone.
This product, $59 from www.simplyspoiledbeautyproducts.com includes six shades and a Beauty Blender sponge in the set.
Start by applying foundation then use bronzer around the perimeter of the face using a wet Beauty Blender sponge. Then brush on a darker tone so it goes from darker to lighter toward the hairline. Finally, use a lighter shade to soften the color. Complete the process with a light use of the sponge.
Contouring emphasizes the beauty of every face with subtle yet noticeable improvements compared with conventional techniques.
Kim Kardashian is not the only one who is obsessed with contouring! My nineteen year old daughter, Kendallyn swears by it to achieve that perfect celeb look. I received a Perfection Contour set to review and below you will see how Kendallyn puts it to use in the tutorial below.
Note: Kendallyn uses a brush to apply the powder, instead of the Beauty Blender.
In her own words:
Today I decided to contour my face with this amazing ‘Simply Spoiled Contouring Kit’. ‘Contouring’ your face means you are creating an optical illusion that helps minimize, emphasize and shape your facial features using shadows and highlights.
I am amazed with how smooth and pigmented all of the powders in this pallet are. My favorite shades out of all of these powders are the bottom left and the bottom right. Those two shades are the perfect shades to highlight and contour my face.
I first used this light ivory/yellow-ish toned powder and swept it all over my face and really focused on the tops of my cheek bones for a nice, fresh-faced highlight.
I next used this brown powder and blended it very well just under my cheek bones as I made a ‘kissy’ face. I then continued to blend it on the sides of my nose and temples of my head for even more shadowing. Don’t be intimidated by how dark the brown color is, because if its blended right, it looks very natural no matter what lighting you are in!
And there you have it! I hope you like this post about the Simply Spoiled Contouring Kit. I don’t usually contour my face everyday, but I like how it makes my cheek bones stand out a little more.
