7 Reasons to Donate Your Eggs

August 24, 2020 by Juliann

Egg donation is one of the best things you could do. It is a generous act that lets another woman who would otherwise not have become mom, become one. It is also a good way to help a couple fulfill their dream of having a family of their own. Below, we will look at some other reasons why you should consider donating your eggs.

It Is an Opportunity to Help Another Couple

Most egg donors do it because they have their own families and they want the same for other couples. They want these couples to have their own families and to feel fulfilled. By donating an egg, you start a legacy that will not end any time soon and you will be happy in knowing that there is a family out there that now has a chance to celebrate holidays and create family memories they otherwise would not.

Help Fight Stigma

There is a lot of stigma surrounding infertility. By becoming an egg donor with the help of a clinic like MCRM Fertility, you can help women come forward to donate their eggs and talk about infertility. Talking about different stigmas remains one of the best ways of ending them.

Become a Mom without Becoming One

There are a lot of women who are not sure if they would like to become mothers. Donating your eggs is the best way of becoming a mom without becoming one. It is also a good way of passing on your genes without becoming a mom yourself.

Learn About Your Fertility

When you decide to become an egg donor, you will undergo a full fertility assessment. The assessment will also include genetic tests in some cases. All these tests will tell you if your eggs are okay to be used and if you have any hereditary diseases you should be aware of.

The results you get from these tests will come in very handy as you try to start your own family. They will also let you know if you can have your own children which will help you find viable solutions if this does not turn out to be the case.

Empowerment

Egg donation makes you feel empowered because you know you are making a positive social change. In addition, you empower other women who will get the chance to become mothers themselves.

Plan Your Own Pregnancies

Due to how busy our lives have become, it is understandable why some couples would want to delay having kids until they are ready to do so. Some clinics that accept egg donations will let you preserve your eggs for free after you have donated a few times until you are ready to start a family.

It Is a Relatively Simple Process

For most women, the whole egg donation cycle lasts less than two months. Once you have undergone the first retrieval process, it becomes easier to donate and the retrieval cycles can be as short as one month.

There is no greater feeling than that of becoming a mother. You have the ability to make that a reality for another couple by becoming an egg donor. With how advanced medicine has become, it is now easy to become an egg donor and give the gift of motherhood to couples who need it.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
