How to Include CBD in your Beauty Regime

March 2, 2021 by Juliann

With the metaphoric rise in the number and type of cannabis products available and the increase in legality, in most States, of cannabis or marijuana itself. There has been a great deal of confusion around the use and consumption of cannabidiol (CBD). It is a term that is bandied about to include all manner of stress-relieving edible products, yet it is not widely known that CBD also has immense potential as a skin and hair care product.

What is it?

The CBD component of cannabis or hemp does not have any psychoactive qualities as these are contained in the THC. If there is no THC in the product, CBD can legally be sold as a supplement and has many accepted health-promoting properties. It is a herbal medicine that has not been found to contain any substances of concern for human health. There are currently CBD based medications being approved by the FDA, and one should keep abreast of this process so as to avoid any false claims being made out there.

Uses

Many have sworn by the effectiveness of CBD for relieving stress and anxiety, dealing with nausea and pain associated with certain cancer treatments, and improving diet. It has gained prominence as something to be taken orally, with gummies, capsules, and oils all being available. There has been a great deal written and shared about edible CBD. For those who would like to experience some of the benefits without ingesting CBD, there is, however, a full range of skin and hair care products that contain CDB oils.

CBD Skin Care

From massage oils to moisturizers, there are a number of CBD products available for external use. CBD oils contain fatty acids that are good for your skin and hair. These fatty acids are especially useful in combating dryness, so cracked heels and feet, hands, and the facial area prime target areas for CBD-based creams and lotions. There are hand creams that you can try as start and then progress to facial products. This allows you to test the creams on the tougher hand areas before going further. A good example of a starter range is available from herbalhealthcbd.co.uk. As with any other cream and lotion that you use for the first time, test it first on a small area of skin and look out for any irregular skin reactions to the cream.

Keep in mind that a holistic beauty regime should not just focus on the face, and as aforementioned, your feet, heels, and hands would be a great place to put these fatty acids to work.

The information contained herein is to help you make informed choices when it comes to a fairly new subject in the beauty and health field. CBD has many reported benefits, and starting with them on the outside is a good way of accessing these benefits without the concerns associated with ingesting. Once you have built up your confidence and done further research, you can move on to the gummies and lower doses of CBD edibles.

Always consult a healthcare professional if you are taking medication or have any existing underlying conditions before taking CBD.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
