Holidays are a special time of the year for baking. I wish I was a good baker, but I’m not. The only holiday treat that I can successfully make that tastes good enough to eat is my homemade fudge. (The recipe is on the back of the Jet-Puffed marshmallow cream jar.) Regardless, there’s nothing I love giving (or receiving) this time of the year than a plate of festive holiday cookies!

I was excited when I was given the chance to review Dancing Deer’s delectable goodies. I was sent a Cranberry Almond Pound Cake, and an assortment of some of the best tasting cookies I’ve ever tried.
This delicious cake is so moist, rich and buttery. The combination of cranberries, almonds and vanilla makes this the perfect holiday cake! It tastes so fresh, as if it just came out of the oven. Each cake comes in a festive red gift box.
The cookies are also delicious, and are as fresh tasting as if they were just baked. I was sent a variety of Dancing Deer Baking Company’s cookies, which consisted of a delightful assortment of homemade goodies. (Every order comes in its own gift box, complete with a cute little greeting card.)
My order included soft molasses cookies, shortbread cookies, chocolate shortbread cookies, iced Christmas tree sugar cookies, and brownies, just like my grandma used to make. I was in holiday cookie heaven!
My son, Braxton decided that he wanted to put together a plate of cookies for Santa. Although it is still a little early, Braxton had a lot of fun getting excited for Christmas, and I had a fun time watching him get creative arranging the cookies just for old St. Nick. We had a memorable time eating cookies and discussing my child’s never-ending Christmas wish list.
It didn’t take too long before we realized that there were only about four cookies left for Santa Claus. Oh well, I am sure he would understand!
These brownies are so chewy and delicious!
