New Device To Prevent Hot Car Deaths: Clever Elly

Every year you read about it or hear about it on the news- somebody forgets their child in a hot car! The numbers are staggering. Fifty-three children died last year after being left alone in a hot vehicle according to KidsandCars.org. Despite numerous warnings and national news stories on hot car deaths it continues to happen. When will it end?

Now a group of enterprising Australia dads hopes to change that. They’ve invented a clever little affordable device they hope will prevent future tragedies and they’re making it available to customers in the U.S. now before the weather starts to heat up.

Known as Clever Elly (because an elephant never forgets!), the device plugs into the cigarette lighter in any car and plays a verbal reminder to check the back seat whenever the car is turned off. It’s simple and easy to use with no complicated screens or buttons. Clever Elly doesn’t require complex installation or setup, and can be easily powered by any car’s existing features.
