I was sent a copy of DIY DYE to review. I color my hair now and then. Sometimes I like to go lighter, and then I get sick of that and decide on darker hair. My natural color is medium brown and thankfully I have zero grey yet, so I just like to play it up once in awhile and experiment with color. I have never done anything, bold, however. When first started coloring my hair, I would go to salons and spend a lot of money to get it professionally done. After reading DIY DYE, I learned that there are many other ways to enhance or color my hair without spending huge sums of money.
DIY DYE has taught me some amazing tips and ideas on how I can color my hair at home to make it look like it was done in the salon. I wish I had known these things a long time ago. This book is filled with recipes and techniques that I can put to use to easily and harmlessly create my own streaks, highlights, lowlights or ombre. I have learned how to properly mix and use toners and bleaches to get the perfect color. I am excited to put what I have learned to use later this month. (I just have not had the time to do anything with my hair yet) but now I have the confidence to try anything! This is wonderful because sometime those do-it-at-home kit instructions don’t explain anything in a way I can understand. DIY DYE lays it all out for me with step-by-step instructions. Yay!
