If you have a child who loves all things Pinkalicious—or you happen to come across this older Nintendo DS game while shopping secondhand—Silverlicious for Nintendo DS is a sweet little blast from the past. My kids were definitely obsessed!

Based on Silverlicious from Victoria Kann’s bestselling Pinkalicious children’s book series, this colorful adventure brings Pinkalicious and her whimsical world to the Nintendo DS.
I originally reviewed this game back in 2012, when the Nintendo DS was still a favorite with kids everywhere. While the game may be harder to find these days, I wanted to update my original review for parents, collectors, and Pinkalicious fans who may still be curious about it.
What Is Silverlicious for Nintendo DS?
Silverlicious is a kid-friendly adventure game filled with colorful characters, magical lands, sparkles, butterflies, and plenty of the sweetness Pinkalicious fans would expect.
The story begins when Pinkalicious, who absolutely loves sweet treats, loses her sweet tooth. Players join her on an adventure to help her get it back, meeting new friends, exploring different locations, and unlocking hidden treasures along the way.
But there is a little more to the story than cupcakes and candy. One of the things I appreciated about the game was its emphasis on kindness, good manners, friendship, and helping others.
The message behind Silverlicious is a lovely one for young children: the sweetest things in life aren’t necessarily treats, but the happiness that comes from being kind and helping someone else.
A Colorful Game for Young Pinkalicious Fans
Everything about this game was designed with young Pinkalicious fans in mind. The colorful scenery, magical elements, butterflies, wands, and sparkly details make it feel like you’ve stepped right into Pinkalicious’ world.
The gameplay is geared toward younger children, so this isn’t the type of Nintendo DS game older kids would necessarily find challenging. Instead, it’s a lighthearted adventure that’s especially appealing to children who already know and love the Pinkalicious books and characters.
My Thoughts on Silverlicious
I actually played Silverlicious myself when I originally reviewed it, and I remember thinking how much my daughters would have loved it when they were little.
At the time, my girls were already teenagers, and playing this sweet, sparkly little game made me wish for a moment that they were young again. I could easily imagine them being completely enthralled by the butterflies, magic wands, colorful scenery, and everything else that made the game feel so whimsical.
Looking back at this review all these years later makes that memory even sweeter. Those little-girl years really do pass much faster than you think they will!
Can You Still Buy Silverlicious for Nintendo DS?
Because Silverlicious was released for the Nintendo DS many years ago, you’re unlikely to find it alongside today’s new video games. However, used copies may still turn up through online marketplaces, resale shops, retro gaming stores, thrift stores, or even tucked away in someone’s old Nintendo DS collection. You can buy it refurbished on Amazon!
If your child or grandchild loves Pinkalicious and you still have a working Nintendo DS, it could be a fun little game to rediscover.
And for those of us who remember the Nintendo DS years well, Silverlicious is also a sweet reminder of a time when our kids—and their favorite games—were a whole lot younger.
