The Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound, WA (Best Family fun getaway I ever had.)

March 10, 2010 by Juliann Leave a Comment

My husband and I took our four children last weekend to The Great Wolf Lodge, the one closest to our home in Grand Mound, Washington. (Only a two hour drive.)

I tell you, it was pure bliss for us. The entire hotel, the water park, the rooms were so much fun and just immaculate. The perfect weekend getaway for us. We only stayed there one night, but got in about twenty four hours of fun. When we arrived Sunday morning, 2/28, (the check-in time for the room is 4pm, but they let you start playing in the waterpark at 1 pm.) We were delighted when they told us we could get into our room at noon, as it was available already!

The room was so cute with a little kids den with bunk beds and a single bed in a little cabin themed area cheerfully painted with adorable woodsy murals. There was a queen bed in the main area with a little kitchen, and we had stocked the fridge from groceries we’d bought along the way. (Sandwich fixings, apples, cheese and crackers and drinks so we wouldn’t need to eat at the restaurants in the Lodge- although I have heard they are great.)

Everything was so clean. There was an area for little kids with pretend jet skis for them to sit on a squirt anyone in sight. The water was nice and warm. There were waterslides perfect for my three year old. He was so adorable to watch him play in the water and make lots of friends.

My older three kids and their Dad were able to go down the rafting and innertubing rides and we traded off so I could go down the big rides, to go down the rafting and innertubing rides with my family and kids….Braxton was too short to ride those, but funny enough he was able to ride down the huge water slides. At the very top, I’d let go of him and watch him slide all the way down the windy slide with his Dad waiting at the bottom. Braxton absolutely LOVED that and wanted to go back down again and again.

There was an arcade and an ice cream parlor, gift shops and spas- one for little girls and one for adults. There was story time for children at bedtime-8pm in the lobby.

All in all it was pure bliss! I CANNOT wait to go back!!!!!!! I highly recommend going if you can. I am already saving up to try and go again next month.
