NEW YEAR BEAUTY RESOLUTIONS
(YOU MIGHT NOT EXPECT)
1. Go Natural – Read ingredients – if you can’t pronounce it, don’t use it. Did you know that the laws that govern what ingredients can be put into beauty products have not changed since 1925? Yeah. Not funny. Take control of your own health by playing it safe.
2. Skip Creams; Use Oils – Oils are the Queen of emollients – Nefertiti and Cleopatra didn’t have creams. Did you know that creams are basically filled with everything but the essential oils needed to keep your skin in shape? Contrary to popular belief, oils don’t make your skin oily – good ones absorb immediately. Did you know that Castor oil comes from a nut? It’s the Rolls Royce of skin oils.
3. Nourish Your Skin as you Nourish with Food – Your skin is your largest organ, your protective layer. Like our emotions, your skin is a sign post; it reflects what it’s fed and what’s put on it topically. Do both!
4. Get to know the Comedogenic Scale – Every oil and butter has a rating that tells you whether it will clog your pores or not. Know what you’re putting on your skin. (Make sure your skincare ingredients are under 2.)
