Going through Divorce?Tampa Divorce Attorneys have your Back

December 15, 2018 by Juliann

Going through a divorce is a huge bump in the road of life. You need to find an attorney who can ensure that this difficult process goes as smoothly as possible during this painful time. Knowing how to choose a divorce lawyer who will provide you with the legal advice you need, at a price you can afford, and be the right fit for your situation, isn’t easy. At the same time, it’s one of the most important divorce decisions you will make.

Below are a few important tips to consider for choosing a divorce lawyer to represent you.

Decide what divorce process you want to use. Are you looking for mediation, litigation, collaborative divorce, or some other divorce process? After you decide which process you would like, then you can start looking for a divorce lawyer who is experienced in using that divorce process.

Decide what kind of legal service you need. You do not always need one who charges an arm and a leg per hour! Unless, of course you have a lot of assets and complicated financial issues to figure out. If you do not have a lot of assets, or if it was a short marriage, or with no children, then you could probably go with a smaller firm, or an individual attorney who will charge you a lot less.

Figure out what you can afford. You must balance the level of legal services that you need with the cost of the services that you can afford. This is a situation however, where you don’t want to try to find the ‘cheapest attorney available.’ This is a major life decision, and you get what you pay for!

Ask for recommendations. Ask around! If you know of somebody who went through a divorce and was satisfied with their divorce lawyer, find out the name. Search for recommendations online! Read reviews. Also, if you know any lawyers who don’t specialize in divorce, ask them for a referral. Lawyers know each other.

Look for a lawyer who is experienced in family law. You need a lawyer who regularly works in divorce, and specifically the kind of divorce you are looking for.

Interview several lawyers before you choose one. Make sure you feel like the person will be a good fit for your needs. If you don’t click or mesh well, you may not want to go through with this sometimes lengthy process with them. Go with your gut. If it doesn’t feel right, look elsewhere.

Make a list of questions to ask each potential lawyer that you interview. Each one might have might have different perspectives on handling your case. Go with the one who approaches your case in the way you would like them to.

Working from their centrally-located office in downtown Tampa, Florida, the Quinn & Lynch, P.A. team focuses exclusively on marital and family law. This allows them to strive for superior personalized service and aggressive representation on behalf of their clients.

Having an experienced divorce lawyer in Tampa to guide you through the challenges and transitions involved with divorce can make a considerable difference in the outcome of your legal matter. The founder of the Quinn & Lynch, P.A., Mary Elizabeth Quinn, is Board-Certified in marital and family law, which means she is among a small percentage of Florida attorneys whose “certification is the highest level of evaluation by the Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law.”

Clients benefit considerably from her professionalism of drafting premarital agreements to deal with financial affairs prior to marriage. As a highly skilled lawyer, she assists clients with all aspects of divorce, from marriage dissolution to child custody, child support, alimony, and property division issues. She continues to help families, through modifications and enforcement of court-ordered support or custody.

If you are in the process of a divorce and are wanting to stay out the the courts, collaborative divorce is the option that is suited for that. Collaborative divorce is far less complicated than the typical divorce process. The courts are less involved than the average divorce system and are primarily focused on making sure that family matters are settled outside the courtroom. The families have more of a say so about what will happen. At Quinn & Lynch P.A., they are qualified to serve you in the time of need.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
