All I Can Handle, I’m no Mother Theresa by Kim Stagliano.
I really enjoyed reading this book. Kim Stagliano is very witty and humorous. I
think she and I would get along very well. I love the way she tells her story.She adds humor to an otherwise grim and mostly undiscussed topic, being a mother of three daughters with autism. Kim does not sugarcoat it.
Kim reveals how she has dealt with coming to terms that her daughters are autistic and how difficult of a journey her life has been. Kim takes things as they come, one day at a time. She tells how she and her very supportive husband, Mark, have trudged through many trials raising their children. It seems that life tossed them many a curveball which include financial problems, frequent moves and her daughter getting lost in a large hotel while on vacation.
You really cannot even begin to comprehend what it is like to have a child with autism until you have a child with autism, or unless you get a peek into what life is like for Kim as the mother to three autistic kids.
While I do not have children with autism, I feel I can relate to Kim. Life is hard enough anyway with non-disabled children. Kim is a very strong person who seems to weather the storms of life pretty well and with a great sense of humor, too! And no matter how difficult life gets, Kim loves her daughters very much and is a wonderful mother to them.
Kim is a nationally recognized autism autism advocate and speaker.
