When you’re pregnant you get advice and opinions about everything, which if you’re new to this whole thing like me, is generally pretty helpful. However, some things you just can’t really take advice on because you have to have baby here to guide you. One of the huge things on that list is bottles. People shared with me their babies preferences, some saying their baby would ONLY take a certain brand or nipple type. For some it was very difficult to transition from nursing to bottles and some babies handled it just fine. The problem is, every baby is different and I had no idea how our little Reylin would feel about bottles until she got here!
We tried bottle feeding pretty early on (but not too early because we were worried about nipple confusion) and she took to it right away! We were very surprised and happy and her grandparents and uncle LOVED feeding her, and it was adorable to watch (and honestly a little bit nice to have a break). I have been so lucky to exclusively breastfeed so far with baby but knowing that she would actually take the bottle was still a huge relief. At first I was trying basic bottles and the ones that came with my breast pump which worked good but we’re definitely missing something…and we wanted better than good. I didn’t like how how hard and unfriendly these bottles seemed and I wanted to find something that felt a little more natural for baby.
I came across Comotomo and immediately loved their design. Their bottles are made to simulate natural breastfeeding. Their hygienic silicone bottles are soft, squeezable, free from any chemicals and so much more friendly for little baby hands. They also keep mom in mind – these bottles are SO easy to clean and take apart, yet they are absolutely leak free. The other plus? These bottles are so cute and instagrammable! I always call my baby cute but I didn’t think I’d say that about a bottle itself and here I am! These bottles are truly better than good and I will definitely be sticking with them.
I will be returning to work this month and while it will be emotional for me and baby, I am grateful that she will be in daddy’s loving arms during the day. I am also grateful that if she can’t be nursing, she can be using Comotomo’s bottles filled with breast milk which really is the next best thing.
While I know it’s difficult to know which bottle baby will want until he/she is here, I must say that Comotomo really put a lot of thought into this design and hit all of the marks that a baby’s missing from other bottle brands. This bottle is designed to ease the breast to bottle transition and I would highly recommend trying this one specifically with your babe first!
