Wow. I am officially out of the loop. No more social networking for me. Bye bye Facebook. I just deleted my Facebook account, and I feel it was for the best. I was spending far too much time 'snooping' around other people's lives, checking up on them to see who's married, who's single, who's wrinkled and who's fat. I was becoming obsessed with the drama of other people's lives, and worst of all, it was beginning to consume me. I was letting myself get drawn in too deeply into another world, one that was not mine, one I had no business getting involved in. I put myself out there, raw and vulnerable with my daily statuses. No matter how frivolous they may have been to me, someone else may have been reading into it a far deeper meaning. I almost let myself fall into literally the wrong hands. I might have really hurt this individual who picked up on my vulnerability, and reached out to me. I truly appreciate what he was trying to do, but I was getting too involved into his personal life and letting him too far into mine. It scared me. I may just be a coward, but I had to run the other way. I am sorry for any pain I have caused this individual who was trying to be my friend, but I had to throw caution to the wind, and not lead him on anymore. I don't know where I was leading him, but it was getting too wierd. So, if anything, I have learned a valuable lesson about social networking. It can certainly be fun and entertaining, but it is too easy to get caught up in a world you might not have intended to.
