If you are like me, you have had moments of wishing your little one could stay little. I often find myself almost mourning the passing of my precious four year old’s fleeting babyhood. Sometimes I wish I could keep him this age forever and ever so that he can always fit in my arms.
This beautifully illustrated and lovingly written book, ‘If I Could Keep You Little‘ by Marianne Richmond echoes the sentiment of mothers who wish to keep their children little, but yet also encourage them to grow and develop to their fullest potential.
Here is an example:
"If I could keep you little,
I’d tell you stories every night.
But then I’d miss you reading
the words you’ve learned by sight."
Awwwww! This book makes me cry! Children do grow up way too fast and although it would be wonderful to be able to hold onto them forever and ever, it would be selfish to hold them back from blooming into the person they were meant to become.
I love this book! It would be the perfect gift for any Mommy or Daddy or sweet litte child.
