I live in Oregon and I love it here. As the birthplace of Nike and home to the first family of the United States (The Simpsons), Oregon has much to be proud of. To add to the state’s credentials, I’m excited to have found out that its mild climate and residents’ healthy lifestyles contributed to Oregon being ranked the #50 Most Wrinkle Prone State in the U.S., according to the second annual Wrinkle Ranking study, which was released this past August by Sperling’s Best Places and RoC ® Skincare.
The 2015 Wrinkle Ranking helps Americans read between their fine lines and wrinkles by exposing the less obvious, state-specific factors that contribute to aging skin, and equips residents with the information needed to start making a change about their skin health and safety.
Why did Oregon rank #50 in the 2015 Wrinkle Ranking?
- Similar to its neighboring state, Washington (which ranked #49 this year), Oregon also ranked very low, thanks to its cloudy climate (which minimizes exposure to damaging UV rays) and year-long mild temperatures
- Although its skin cancer rate is the 8th highest in the nation, this factor was offset by Oregon’s high scores when it comes to exercise and healthy diet
My thoughts: I thought I was blessed with good genes, but perhaps there is more to it. I have stayed out of the sun most of my life. I also use the very best skin care products, so maybe that is helping my skin look years younger than I am. I can almost bet that Roc skincare products have something to do with it as well.
