Today is a beautiful day, my boy is taking his afternoon nap, and all should be blissful. But alas, somehow I’m not very happy. You see, we are going , leaving this afternoon on our yearly Memorial Day weekend camping trip. To put it mildly, I don’t wanna go! I don’t wanna go! I don’t wanna go! I don’t wanna go! No offense to my husband who dearly loves these trips, but I am a woman whose idea of luxury is a nice hotel at a beautiful beach. There are no showers where we go, and my in-laws are always right along with us in their fifth wheel. I usually sleep in the tent, but sometimes, like the last two years, I sleep with my baby inside the trailer where it is warmer……..and my in-laws both snore louder than you cold ever imagine. Both of them. Wow. I always need to bring sleeping pills, either way…….that way I won’t notice the cold air if we sleep in the tent, nor the snoring if we sleep in the trailer. Gadfrey. This is for FIVE nights.
My kids love going fishing with their dad, and all three older kids are quite the expert fishermen…..my girls included. But somehow, if I manage to come along (fearing the entire time that our baby will fall overboard…..even with his lifejacket on) I am TERRIBLE luck and nobody catches anything! (Either that or they lie and no one catches any fish anyway whether I’m there or not) but I doubt it.
Worst of all is that there is NO computer hookups up there…….and I refuse to play cards………………!!!!!!!!! I have zero good books and I hate getting dirty! Auuugghhhhhhhhhhhhh!
