Uncover Younger Skin with PMD, Personal Microderm, a personal microdermabrasion system that you can use at home for a fraction of the cost of salon treatments, with professional results.

Since I am in my forties (as much as I'd love to deny that little fact) I have been wanted to try microdermabrasion, but could never afford to have it done in an office, so when I was given the opportunity to try PMD, I was very excited. I do exfoliate my skin several times a week, but no product I have ever tried has given me the results that PMD has shown. After just 8 uses (I have been using it twice per week) my skin feels smoother and softer than ever before. It seems to glow. And, your lotions creams and serums will be able to absorb much better once you have sloughed off that top layer of dead skin cells.

I have used my PMD not only on my face, but on my hands, elbows and and feet, anywhere that you may have rough skin. There is a special head attachment designed for various body parts. It is so easy to use.

Why PMD? (taken from their website)

The PMD Personal Microderm is an at-home microdermabrasion device that uses Aluminum Oxide Crystals and a vacuum suction to smooth away dead skin cells and literally uncover younger skin. When used just once a week, the PMD will minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, hyperpigmentation and blemishes for a vibrant, youthful complexion.

Why Exfoliate? (taken from their website)

Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells, dirt, and oil from the surface of the skin, which either occurs naturally or is stimulated through the use of products. Since the skin’s natural exfoliating ability weakens with age, products are often needed to provide results.

The two types of product-based exfoliation are:

Chemical Exfoliants:  facial peels, lotions, gels, and creams. These types of products use acids or enzymes to loosen and dissolve the glue-like substances holding the skin’s cells together.

Manual (Mechanical) Exfoliants: masks, scrubs, salts, abrasive pads, and microdermabrasion. These products use friction from physical contact to rid the skin of dead cells and unclog pores.

Exfoliation leaves the skin more smooth, clear, bright, and firm. The most effective exfoliation technique is microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion leaves the skin more smooth, bright, and firm, while reducing visible damage and imperfection.

The PMD Personal Microderm has three levels of exfoliation to accommodate different skin types and needs. The blue discs, which are used on sensitive skin, are the lowest level of exfoliation. The green discs provide mid-level exfoliation, while the strongest level red discs deliver an intense, aggressive exfoliation for the skin.  The higher level exfoliating discs should only be used on coarse or resilient skin.  It is always better to begin with very mild treatments and gradually increase the exfoliation level over time, if necessary.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
