It is a very warm day, I am drenched with sweat, but blissful. I just took my four children, or to put it in better perspective, they took ME on a nature walk. My little two year old, Braxton is an amazing child. Just to oserve him in nature is a beautiful blessing. My oldest child, Jonathan suggested we all go down to the creek in our 5 acre yard. So along with my kids (my two daughters and my sons) we took a great nature walk. Braxton had never been down to the creek (I hadn’t either.)
We had to go down into the forest in which was so peaceful. We found pretty blue egg shells, and Braxton squished them in his little hands. I was certainly wishing I had brought along my camera as I watched Braxton playing and discovering his world. He did not hesitate to follow his older siblings into the shallow crystal clear creek. So amazed was I to watch my baby splash in the cold clean water. After he got the hang of wading from rock to rock, he really enjoyed himself playing with sticks and maneuvering around the lovely creek bed.
My girls were making their way upstream and Jonathan, my almost 16 year old had fun helping me with his little brother. We only decided to head back when Braxton pointed to something and exclaimed, "SPIDER!" I about shot up through the trees like a rocket when I saw a creature that looked like the hugest water skipper/bug/trantula I’d ever seen, so we got out of there. (Even Jonathan was creeped out.)
Following Braxton back up the hill to our house, I watched him trudging up the trail like a professional trail guide (as tough as nails in bare feet) I am so thankful to have a young child who is just beginning his adventures in this great big world . Witnessing for a moment my sweet boy’s innocence in harmony with nature made the world perfect to me:)
