Have I told you guys how much I love Nursememama yet? Because I seriously do. I’m not lying about that title either, I really believe that their nursing bras are the best. I first reviewed this company’s invention, Busy Tabs a few months ago, (which you can read about here) that are truly a game changer.
Since then, the founder of NurseMeMama has been doing all sorts of stuff to promote and encourage breastfeeding (because it’s not easy and if someone tells you that it is, chances are they’ve had at least a LITTLE struggle somewhere in there). I love that this brand is so supportive and lighthearted on their social media but keeps the conversation going because we NEED to talk about these things and support each other!! Seriously, any product that makes this whole momming-business easier is SO worth it.
I was really excited to hear that this company keeps coming out with more products and SUPER excited to hear that next up was a nursing bra! But, this is no ordinary nursing bra. This bra caters especially to newborn babies because when they’re fresh into the world, their eyesight kind of sucks. I didn’t really know about this until I had Rey and it made total sense. At an early age she did, however, become really interested in patterns. This is exactly the thought behind the Visy Bra – give the baby something up close, right in front of their face to focus on and suddenly their latch becomes better, so they eat better, they are entertained and the experience is easier on momma, too. GENIUS and it really works!
Besides the science behind the bras, these are also the most comfortable bra I’ve tried – nursing or not. The traditional nursing bra is a lot like a regular bra but with the little clip that you can use to pull down the cup, which is fine… but isn’t really comfortable and to be honest, when you’re in a pinch and baby is fussing and you’re in public not really that functional.
I like the Visy Bra’s design because you simply just pull the boob out far enough for baby to nurse and if you need to you can pull it really far out – but if you don’t, you can have a little more privacy. Also, that fabric panel with all the cool patterns for baby on it actually gives you more coverage (and makes you look a little less like your nip is hanging out in front of your family members).
This bra is a racer back and I’ve found myself sleeping in it a lot because it is SO easy to dream feed in and has minimal seams so it’s super comfy. Have I mentioned this is the most comfortable bra ever? IT IS, OKAY!? If you don’t believe me I highly recommend you buy one and try prove me wrong. Or if you agree then you should just buy one and be forever comfortable. I’ve also found myself wearing this bra a lot during the day because it provides the coverage I need, is surprisingly really supportive for a fabric bra and let’s face it, I don’t have many outfits that I can’t wear a racerback bra with these days.
I’ve even found myself wearing it to work, which is how I discovered an extra bonus to these bad boys – that same fabric panel for baby’s attention actually works geniously to hold my suction cups on my breast pump. YEP – this super comfortable nursing bra does it all. So let’s recap – buy this bra to help baby stay focused and therefore gets him/her a better latch, keeps you comfortable all day long, is perfect to sleep in/easy access for night feedings AND you can even wear it while pumping.
One last note on this bra, my boobs have changed A LOT in size from pre-baby to pregnancy and that fun engorgement stage to post-baby nad nursing. I still honestly don’t know my true bra size at the moment but I am small around and big in the bust so I didn’t know how that would work out on me. After talking to the super friendly and helpful customer service team I ended up getting a medium and it fits so good! So if you’re worried about size don’t be afraid to reach out.
