I received a copy of Kids in the Kitchen Cookbook to review. My son, Braxton (who is six years old) is a borderline picky eater. He does love a variety of foods and is always willing to try something new, even if it is only a bite or two. (Sometimes he'll run to the toilet to spit it out, but at least he tries new foods.) I thought that this cookbook would be a wonderful way to introduce Braxton to some new foods that he might learn to enjoy, especially if he gets to help me prepare it. He does love to help me cook!
Braxton was thrilled. We looked through the book together, and Braxton chose the Banana Bread recipe. This recipe requires whole wheat flour, so it is definitely healthful. He had so much fun helping me measure, sift and mix all the ingredients together. He especially enjoyed mashing the bananas and cracking open the egg.
Braxton is so proud of his banana bread. Look, it is already half gone! I do plan on making many more delicious dishes with my little chef. Our next cooking endeavor will probably be the Tortilla Pie. It looks yummy!
