With just a couple of days until Christmas, people are getting ready to visit their relatives all over the U.S., with some still being mindful of safety protocols that can give their loved ones peace of mind as they work to connect and share in the season.
Below are the top safety tips for people to use if they are planning to be around relatives this holiday. While I personally believe that families should be able to gather together on the holidays, everyone should use a bit of common sense!
Be Aware of the Risk– Keep in mind that having any guests in your home is risky at any time during this pandemic, no mater what precautions you take. It is important to take inventory of your own COVID-19 risk and decide whether it’s safe to attend or host family events. People who are over 60 or have underlying health issues should really should think twice about holiday gatherings.
Minimize the Risks of Infection- Wear Masks– While it may seem ridiculous to wear a mask in your own home, or in the home of family, masks can definitely help stop the spread of Covid-19. But with tons of masks on the marketplace, which masks are the safest in preventing transmission of this virus?
Boomer Naturals has created one of the first Nano-Silver face masks! The Nano-Silver fibers protect against 99.99% of airborne particles, and the nano silver has antimicrobial benefits for added sanitation.
Boomer Naturals face covers are comfortable enough for all-day wear, and their premium 65% cotton/35% polyester blend with Silver is highly effective at preventing droplets from spreading. With three different layers, including an inner hydrophilic layer, a middle filtering layer, and an outer hydrophobic layer, these Silver-infused Face Covers offer exceptional protection!
Now available with sewn-in nose pieces and adjustable ear loops for added comfort, Boomer Naturals face covers with silver technology are your smart choice to stay protected! They have the perfect masks available for adults and children! At under ten dollars each, they would also be the perfect holiday gift to give to your loved ones this year! There are many different patterns and sizes for everyone!
Let Guests Know about House Rules in Advance– If you will be requiring masks and social distancing, discuss it with your family members ahead of time. Make sure everyone is willing to follow your rues, and put the rules in writing — add it into the invitation, or a simple email or text message will do. You might also post the rules on the wall in a cute, festive way to help remind everyone!
Keep a Good Air Flow– Sure, it is wintertime, and the weather outside is cold, but it would not hurt to keep the air circulating by keeping windows open at least a crack, throughout the house during the festivities. People often get too warm, anyway, when they are having fun.
Practice Social Distancing– It might be a good idea to have people stay a few feet away from each other, and refrain from giving hugs! Yes, it might be hard to resist giving Grandma a squeeze, especially if you have not seen her in awhile, but try an elbow bump instead. It could actually turn into a fun game. Just do it gently! Space out the chairs at the dining table or set up two separate dining tables. Consider splitting the gathering into two groups so people don’t have to sit very close together.
Limit Number of Guests– As hard as it may be to not want to leave anyone out of your traditional family gatherings, people just need to understand that this year is very different. The rule of thumb is- the fewer the better! The risk of infection increases with larger groups of people. If you do plan to have a large gathering, you may want to consider Corporate COVID-19 testing in Charlotte. These tests are typically used by businesses to test their employees, but are ideal for helping hosts protect large parties from COVID.
Do Not Come if you are Sick or Have Been Exposed– For example, I had to go and get tested today for Covid-19 myself today. Why? Because a long lost family member decided to come over for lunch last Tuesday, and was found to be COVID positive the very next day. She had very well known that she had been with her granddaughter who had tested positive for Covid-19 the day before! She did not let us know this, and she was coughing the entire time during her visit to my home. She did not feel well, but still decided to come over. She put my entire family at risk! She did not wear a mask, either. Thankfully, my test was negative. The rest of my family will be tested tomorrow. If any one of them test positive, then our Christmas plans will not take place. It really only takes one person to infect many people. Stay home!
