LIVE from LFW – Vin + Omi S/S17
Hmmmmm. I doubt I will ever wear my hair like these models (perhaps for Halloween?) but I absolutely love ColorProof products. I just thought this was interesting.
The show: Vin + Omi S/S17
The inspiration: A modern, surreal take on geisha styling, except instead of sleek structural buns, the bigger the windswept hair, the better.
The hair: Liam Curran for ColorProof
The details: Prior to show day, Liam and the team created 37 dramatic wigs – sewing three individual hair pieces together to form each black, white or red style – and backcombed the entire lengths to create ultimate bulk and impact.
Backstage, they began by wig wrapping all the models’ hair, using ColorProof Firm Flexible Wax to create a sleek and flat base to support the hairpieces. Once fixed to the head and pinned in place, the team used ColorProof Texture Powder through the roots of the wigs and on the ends to create maximum lift and volume, while also giving the cloud-like hair lots of texture and hold.
Each model – including celebrities Nicola Adams MBE, Julia Sawalha, Jo Whiley, Nina Nesbitt and Grace Woodward – was finished with a generous blast of ColorProof Strong Hold Hairspray, before the team secured paint pallets and paint brushes at the crown to fit the dream-like final looks.
