5 Steps To Take To Unwind on The Weekend

July 29, 2019 by Juliann

unwind

Learning to relax, unwind, and enjoy time to yourself or with your family should be one of your biggest priorities in life, and so you should aim to do it as often as your busy life permits. Breathe easy, and do so this the help of the following five suggestions:

Have a Massage Saturday Morning

Before the kids are up and running around the place, get out of the house to enjoy a Saturday morning hot stone massage in Ahwatukee, AZ. Compare different masseuses to get an idea of the services they provide and cost, and just book one. You won’t regret having a relaxing body massage, so go ahead and schedule time to relax. Starting the day in such a way will set you up to take on the remaining time with clarity of mind, and a quiet sense of peace – that’s the hope anyway. The company heaven and earth massage offers the likes of hot stone massage, as well as aromatherapy sessions, and even Thai massage if you’re feeling brave.

Coffee at The Ready

In order to properly unwind at the weekend, you will need to be comforted in the knowledge that all pressing deadlines and matters have been followed up and sorted. However, if they’re not all quite dealt with, then you will need to set aside some time to finish them. Do this by pouring yourself a large mug of coffee and pressing on during the last hours of Friday evening.

Once this is out of the way, it’s time to enjoy yourself in any way you see fit. A little surge of caffeine should help you to feel more energized to enjoy fun activities with your kids and to get involved with them playing in the yard, for example.

Be Mindful of The Time

As you’ll know, your time off from work will fly by so be mindful not to waste time doing menial tasks or activities that could wait until one of the weeknights. You don’t want to clock watch, of course, but just be sure that you’re investing your time wisely. If you know exactly how you want to spend the weekend, then get organized by laying out the kids clothes ready to go, getting them showered and washed the night before, setting deadlines and schedules so that you’re where you need to be on time without delays, and avoid silly mishaps like forgotten items and bad planning.

Walk Outdoors

Step outside to walk in the open countryside or at the beach. Fresh air is superbly good for you, so encourage your whole family to get out walking, their blood pumping, and enjoying being surrounded by nature. Consider taking your young kids camping for the weekend to escape the pressures of the modernized world of technology. By doing this, you should feel as though you’ve reset your batteries.

Laugh

It’s said that laughter is the best medicine, and when you’re feeling down, anxious about work, or just in need of a pick-me-up, then seeing those close to you can be just the ticket. Schedule time to chat with some of your best mates or travel to see a friend who will be sure to send you into fits of giggles.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
