Who doesn’t love elephants? It is only fitting that there is such a things as World Elephant Day (on August 12th) to celebrate these majestic creatures. One Tribe Apparel has long loved elephants – the beautiful and gentle giants who are misused for riding and even used for begging.
That’s why we decided to align ourselves with an organization that is not only against riding elephants but also rehabilitates and rescues those who have been abused at circuses and so called “elephant experience parks”. We might be a super small company but we wanted to do our bit for these creatures, that is how we started donating to the Elephant Nature Park located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
If you ever visit this park (and we recommend you do), you’ll see that all the elephants are playing about, having fun, and no one is riding them. The older elephants who have been rescued and rehabilitated have taken it upon themselves to train the young ones and become their nannies. Most of the funds that ENP receives goes towards food and care for these beautiful creatures.
