Toddler Running around the House? Baby-Proof House for Maximum Safety

February 18, 2021 by Juliann

So now your little one has grown up to balance and has already started to run around? Well, yes! We agree with you. They grow before you know it and soon after they will be climbing everywhere around. You may be trying to capture all their small steps and milestones so that you can hold them close to your heart forever. However, with all that, you also need to realize that you will not be able to have your focus on them at each and every moment amidst your own office and household work. So, what can you do to ensure that the safety factor is never compromised even without your watchful eyes? Well, keep reading on.

1. Installing baby gates At this stage, it is natural for babies to have an increased inquisitiveness around their surroundings. This propels them to go about an exploration trip every few minutes. This becomes especially when they are moving around dangerous areas like stairs, laundry room, the kitchen, and pantry, etc. You cannot trust them enough even if you are just somewhere around in the living room as they will feel naturally drawn to the colored hues of the fire in the hearth. Hence, you should install baby gates in all these areas so that your little one can go around finding new places in a secure manner.

2. Getting Rugs safety plus added aesthetic appearance Toddlers can be very notorious while playing and they may want to try to pull all kinds of stunts imaginable. What may seem hilarious to you on shared videos on your social media can prove extremely harmful for your tiny one. As this is the stage when he or she may be just learning to balance the body weight properly, there is always a chance of stumbling here and there. A bad fall may prove to be really hurtful. Therefore, as a measure of caution, it is a wise decision to get carpets inside the house. According to the experts at https://www.samad.com, the handcrafted rugs are made up of wool and silk and processed in a manner to cause minimal structural damage. The thick and soft texture makes it absolutely appropriate for your little one to play in without you having to worry about any bodily injuries.

3. Covering Electrical Sockets As much as you want to avoid this one, their inexperienced fingers will ultimately find their ways to uncovered electrical sockets, which is a major source of electrocution. The best way to keep your child protected is to get covers for them. There are many baby socket covers available and they are pretty solid so that irrespective of how hard he or she may try to open it, they won’t come off.

4. Safety Wraps Another common injury with small children is when their fingers come in the way of doors and windows. By this development stage, their mind is unable to make calculations about the speed and common reflexes, which sometimes is responsible for their smashed fingers and painful shrieking. Being children, they have no tolerance for any trauma or throbbing aches. Like any parent, you may shudder at even the thought of the apple of your eye having to go through something like that. To avoid this kind of situation, you should install safety wraps and guards around the window sills and door frames. Going a little extra, you should also put them around the corners of tables and any sharp edges so that you are always at peace knowing that they are a little safer.

 Conclusion

Even if you make your home a little fortress, it is impossible to keep troubles from your tiny tot. Still doing things like keeping heavy objects out of their reach, keeping bathrooms locked, and maintaining a specific area for playtime activities can keep them a little more secure.

Welcome to Beautiful Moms

Hi! I’m Juliann, a wife to my wonderful husband, Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I first started Beautiful Moms Blog in 2008, my goal was to connect with and support other moms who were in the thick of raising young children. It became a creative outlet where I could share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with companies that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It’s so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. I have always believed that every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she’s in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms Blog has grown and evolved right along with me. Today, my children are adults, and I have embraced the blessings of being a grandma. My passion for encouraging women hasn’t changed—it has simply expanded to include every season of motherhood, from pregnancy and the newborn years to raising teenagers, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

I’m excited to have my daughter, Myelie, as a contributor to Beautiful Moms. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood. She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a home wherever life takes you.

Together, we’re here to support women through every age and stage of motherhood—from pregnancy to menopause—with helpful advice, honest product recommendations, beauty and wellness tips, and plenty of encouragement along the way.

We are PR Friendly and love working with great companies!
