Pre-Holiday Detox: Prepare Your Body For Family Get-Together

November 22, 2021 by Juliann

The holiday season is forthcoming; this implies lots of parties and family gatherings. You’ll get to spend quality time with the people you love in the comfort of your sweet home. However, as fascinating as the festive season may sound, all the party preparations can get pretty tiring for your mind and body.

Don’t you agree?

Needless to say, if your body is tired or unhealthy, you won’t be able to enjoy this season to the full extent. In order to avoid such a scenario, you should consider trying “Pre-holiday detox” to prepare your body.

Here’s how you can do this!

Use Skin Brush While Bathing

As you might already know, the purpose of detox is to remove the toxins from your body and work on improving the immune system. One way to do so is by making necessary changes in your skincare.

In simple terms, when you take a bath, use a skin brush. It will help in exfoliating the skin, opening skin pores. In addition to this, when you use a skin brush, it stimulates your lymphatic system, helps in removing toxins from your body.

Also, try to take a mix of baths for strengthening your nervous system and lymphatic system. You can visit the bathhouse to achieve the results. Or you can try a 30-second hot bath and a 30-second cold bath at home. Repeat this activity for 5 minutes, and you’ll get the same results.

Try Cleansing Juice

What you eat and drink has a significant impact on your body. For detoxification, you should reduce caffeine intake. Instead, keep your body hydrated. Drink plenty of water and cold pressed juice cleanse especially made for detoxification. These juices tend to contain lots of natural ingredients that help in removing toxins from your body.

Tip: If you are a light eater, drink the juice for breakfast. It will keep you fuller for longer without making you feel bloated. Or you can also replace your evening snacks with juice for better results.

If you’re planning to indulge in some alcohol during the holidays, ensure you drink responsibly and pace yourself. Additionally, if you’re feeling particularly fatigued or dehydrated after festivities, consider seeking replenishment through nutrients for effective hangover recovery, yielding quick results.

Keep Your Body Active

The lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump. In order to remove toxins, you need to move your body. You can use a skin brush and hot/cold shower for the same. But, for more effective results, it is suggested to exercise every day.

Walking, CrossFit, Yoga, Biking, and Pilates are some activities that you can try for good health.

Also, focus on your breathing. You might not know, but every breath is a form of detox. Just 5 minutes of deep breathing exercise can help reduce your stress, improve your quality of sleep and reduce toxins from your body.

And the best part?

You can perform breathing exercises at any time of the day. So, you must give it a try!

Wrapping it all up!

These are some of the ways in which you can prepare your body and improve your immunity system for the upcoming season. When you are healthy, you’ll be able to enjoy this season and be with your loved ones. Nonetheless, you can also try this detox before every big event to ensure that your body is fit.

About This Blog

Juliann, founder of Beautiful Moms

Welcome to Beautiful Moms!

Hi! I'm Juliann, wife of 33 years to Jon, a mom to four amazing children, and a proud grandma to five precious little ones. I live in Oregon.

When I started Beautiful Moms in 2008, my goal was to connect with other moms who were also raising young children. It became a creative outlet for me to share my thoughts on motherhood, review products I loved, and work with brands that help make family life a little easier.

More importantly, I wanted moms to feel seen. It's so easy to lose ourselves in the demands of caring for everyone else and forget that our own well-being matters, too. Every mom deserves to feel beautiful, valued, and appreciated, no matter what stage of motherhood she's in.

Over the years, Beautiful Moms has evolved right along with me. My children are now all grown up, and I'm blessed to be a grandma.

Life changes so quickly

One thing that hasn't changed is my passion for encouraging other moms—it's simply expanded to include every season of motherhood—from pregnancy and baby's first years to raising teens, becoming an empty nester, navigating healthy aging, and everything in between.

Myelie, contributor at Beautiful Moms

I'm excited to have my daughter, Myelie, join the Beautiful Moms team as a new contributor. As the mom of a newborn and a busy toddler, she brings a fresh perspective on modern motherhood.

She lives in Alabama with her military husband, so she also understands the unique challenges of military life, frequent moves, and building a happy home wherever life takes you.
