Stressful days are not my favorite. This day is a stressful day for me because my daughters are sick. Is this the dreaded swine flu? My oldest son, Jonathan, who is 16 – came down with this ‘bug’ on Friday. I picked him up from school and he was sick all weekend long with fever, diarreah, headache, sore throat and sinus pressure with lots of nasal discharge, lethargy and coughing. He also had aches and pains and no appetite. He spent the weekend in bed, and although he feels better and went to school today, he is still not himself. He lost over ten pounds.
My girls started getting sick on Sunday and had fevers all night. They missed school Monday and today. What is wierd is that the girls both seemed to be feeling much better earlier today and now are both miserable with zero appetites and their fevers are back.
They also have sore throats and sinus headaches. My youngest child, Braxton, has been grumpier than usual, but has had no fevers. I think it is only because he still breastfeeds that he is well at all.
When my children are sick, it feels to me that my world is crumbled. My husband is not home, as he is working late tonight, perhaps until midnight closing down a construction site. I feel alone and helpless. It really makes me depressed. I pray they all get better soon and that my husband does not get sick, because he can’t miss work. I am not worried about myself, knock on wood, because I usually do not catch these illnesses for some reason.
