With heating bills rising, ever-increasing grocery costs, and holiday shopping stress, splurging on skincare might not exactly fit your budget. (Nobody should ever have to choose between healthy skin and feeding their family — but here we are.) And if anyone deserves to feel beautiful, it’s you.
The good news is, taking care of your beauty needs doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Keeping your skin protected, moisturized, and glowing throughout the colder months can be both affordable and effective — especially when you know where to look. Believe it or not, Dollar Tree has some amazing skincare products that rival high-end brands without the luxury prices!
From rich moisturizers to powerhouse serums (and even overnight hair repair treatments), these budget-friendly beauty finds will keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and radiant throughout the winter— without draining your wallet. Many of these products have been tested and loved by beauty influencers and skincare experts, and after putting them to the test myself, I’m seriously shocked that such high-quality products cost less than five bucks!
Below, I’ve rounded up my favorite Dollar Tree skincare must-haves (along with a few cold-weather beauty tips) and also included a chance to win a $50 Dollar Tree gift card so you can stock up on your own winter self-care essentials!
Facial Cleansers: Gentle, Nourishing & Winter-Approved
Your winter skincare routine needs to start with a clean canvas, but harsh cleansers can strip away natural oils and leave your skin feeling tight and parched. Thankfully, Dollar Tree has some gentle, effective options. (I NEVER spend more than five bucks on cleansers).
-
Dermasil Facial Cleansers – Available for sensitive, oily, or dry skin. I use the sensitive one in the morning and at night. I also use the exfoliating version a few times a week to keep my complexion smooth.
-
b•pure Gentle Skin Cleanser – A total dupe for Cetaphil — fragrance-free, hydrating, and perfect for winter.
-
Global Beauty Care Micellar Wipes – Great for removing makeup or freshening up on lazy nights when you just can’t be bothered.
Serums: The Secret to Cold-Weather Glow
Winter is basically the epitome of dry skin season — and serums are your saving-grace. These affordable picks deliver hydration, brightness, and smoothness like you wouldn’t believe:
-
Power Serum (6-in-1 Benefits) – Firms, hydrates, smooths, and brightens. I even mix a few drops into my body lotion after my shower for that extra glow and all-over firmness.
-
Skin Nutrition Serums – Vitamin C for brightening, Hyaluronic Acid for deep hydration, Retinol for anti-aging, and Niacinamide to calm redness. I switch them up but make sure to include each one at least twice per week. (Don’t be afraid to layer them!)
-
Global Beauty Care Collagen + Peptides Serum – Adds bounce and elasticity back into skin that’s feeling a little “meh.” I use this daily.
-
Be Pure Rose Oil or Vitamin E Serums – Gentle, nourishing, and perfect for dry or sensitive skin days. If your skin is on the oilier side, use oil-based serums at night.
Moisturizers: Your Winter Hydration Holy Grails
A good moisturizer is your winter BFF. These keep your skin soft and supple, even when the weather has other plans:
-
Dermasil Day Cream – Lightweight and perfect under makeup.
-
Dermasil Night Moisturizer – A thicker formula that deeply hydrates while you sleep.
-
Essentially Ageless Day & Night Creams – Infused with retinol and vitamin C for a dewy, plump finish.
Lip Care: Chapped Lips No More!
Winter lips need extra love, and Dollar Tree delivers:
-
b•pure Hydrating Lip Mask – An overnight treatment that rivals Laneige (for about $20 less).
-
b•pure Lip Jelly – Glossy hydration that looks great alone or over lipstick.
-
Global Beauty Care Collagen Lip Masks – A must-have for soft, smooth lips so they don’t chap, flake and peel.
Hair Care: Shiny, Soft & Winter-Ready
Cold air can leave your hair dry and frizzy. These affordable treatments bring back the softness and shine:
-
Nighttime Hair Serum – An overnight miracle for dull or brittle hair.
-
Personal Care Leave-In Conditioner – Detangles and softens without weighing hair down.
-
Softy Hair Oils (Argan, Coconut, Castor) – Perfect for pre-shampoo treatments or sealing in moisture. (Just remember to shampoo them back out.)
Body Care: Because Skin Below the Neck Matters Too
Your body deserves the same love as your face — and these products make that easy:
-
Power Serum (in fact, ALL serums) – Mix with your daily hand/body lotion for soft, radiant skin.
-
XtraCare Cocoa Butter Petroleum Jelly Stick – Perfect for elbows, knees, and heels!
-
Power Stick Anti-Chafe Cream – A lifesaver under leggings or during winter walks.
-
April Bath & Shower Aromatherapy Lotions – Smell like a spa without spending like one.
Bonus Winter Beauty Tips
-
Layer your serums: Go from thinnest (like hyaluronic acid) to thickest (like retinol or creams). Don’t forget to use serum(s) both morning and night!)
-
Glow head to toe: Mix serum into your lotion for full-body hydration, especially elbows, heels, hands and knees!
-
Keep a lip balm and hand lotion in your bag and on your nightstand: Frigid air has mercy for no one. Slather it on before bed and whenever it wears off.
-
Never Neglect Your Neck! From your forehead all the way down to your chest, this entire area deserves some serious TLC—think rich hydration and nourishing serums. Trust me, this skin is thinner, more delicate, and one of the very first places to reveal signs of aging. Don’t skip it!
- Don’t forget your hands! Keep them slathered with hand cream between every wash! Run the backs of your hands onto your face after applying face cream/serums to help absorb extra product. Your young, soft hands will thank you!

Use moisturizer daily and continue to use sunscreen.
I always put Chapstick in my kids’ Christmas stockings. Chapstick is definitely budget friendly and a necessity for winter.
Hydrate and moisturize daily. Dry skin and chapped lips take time to rejuvenate, so incorporate hydrating and moisturizing into your beauty routine.
When winter is fast approaching I switch from a suddsy soapier face cleaner to a
thicker creamier one to keep my skin moisturized and soft looking!
Lip balm for dry lips, especially in winter.
My winter beauty tip is chap stick and lots of moisturizer! I try to apply twice a day at least during the cold months.
My favorite winter skin care tip is to moisturize immediately after showering to lock in hydration while the skin is still damp.
Use olive oil for dry cracked lips. Remember to use sunscreen when out in the snow.
Lip balms are definitely needed for the winter to keep your lips from getting chapped.
My winter skin care tip is to keep a small humidifier near the bed ,adding moisture to the skin overnight
I recommend the CeraVe skin renewing night cream
Use moisturizer and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
I love using basic Nivea cream and simple chapstick.
Switch up your moisturizer to a more hydrating one to deal with dry indoor air. Try a humidifier
Use Vaseline or a store brand for a lip moisturizer
Sunblock! That sun can be super brutal in the snow.
My budget-friendly skin care item that’s essential is Chapstick. Not just for the lips, but I sometimes use it for around my eyes or even upper lip/undernose in a pinch when it’s really windy.
Winter is now so tough for my skin. Get sores from dryness and the best thing is loads petroleum jelly to hold onto everything that is moisturized with lotion. Makes it last longer on the skin from lips to feet.. after lotion, add petroleum jelly on top to keep it sealed and perfect for dry dry skin issues.
What I love is cheapest buys with creating DIY uses from a single ingredient. For example, petroleum jelly as before, cheap but use with some salt or baking soda and make a scrub face cleanser, or add to skin to keep putfime or anything on longer like lotions and make-up. Additionally, on its own I love how it adds natural shine to my lips while healing and tame my hair from flyaways, frizzy and even just gives it a glossy shine. Cheap but useful.
Use daily moisturizing cream.
At least once every other week, after I shower, I use coconut oil and rub it all over from head to toe. I let it sit on for about ten minutes, then use a towel to rub off any excess before getting dressed. It keeps me from an overabundance of dry skin, which the cooler weather likes to inflict on me.
Coconut oil is both inexpensive and effective for dry skin. It’s wonderful and seems to be hypoallergenic no dyes or perfumes to irritate.
A hydration cream and a balm.
Daily moisterizer and still using sunscreen.
Drink lots of water and use chapstick!
I always try to apply lotion after I get out of the shower. My skin gets so dry this time of year.
I’m really liking handmade lotion bars. They mositurize so well and I know all the ingriedients. I will be buying them for friends and family.
I use coconut oil to moisturize dry winter skin
I use sunscreen and a moisturizer for day time and a serum at night
Moisturizer every day
I love Pacifica’s night lip mask.
I use shea oil to moisturize dry winter skin
Shea butter is reasonably priced and great for your skin
My tip is to wear sunglasses even on cloudy days as clouds only block a portion of UV rays.
Budget friendly would be Vaseline that is a classic winter staple for me not only for chapped lips but also for skin..
Shea butter.
Not forgetting to put lotion on after the shower is my best advice. Spending slightly more on a better lotion is my secret. Don’t bother with the B&BW overly scented lotions, they don’t help my skin at all!
I use Lanolin on my lips before bed (or if a runny nose from a cold has set in, use it liberally to soothe the wipe zone!) it helps keep my lips from getting chapped while I’m sleeping and doesn’t wear away super fast like most lip balms do.
My favorite tip is to layer your serums from thinnest to thickest. Also, to use them twice a day.
I swear by basic lip balm and hand lotion. The less stuff in them the better to avoid irritating skin.
MY favorite winter skin care tip is to use several different types of facial mousturizers and apply a generous amount of each.
I discovered a budget friendly beauty product line yesterday at Sally Beauty Supply called Generic Value Products and I like the products a lot.
My wife uses jergens natural glow.
What is your favorite winter/beauty skin care tip? Use sunscreen even in the winter.
What budget-friendly skin care/beauty products do you swear by for winter? I’ve always used the Dermasil Oil Free NIght Moisturizer Facial Cream & the Dermasil Oil Free Day Facial Cream. I have been using them for years and always buy them at Dollar Tree. I went there a few days ago and didn’t see them there. I hope they were just out of stock.
I always make sure to moisturize, especially right after showering while my skin is still damp
Aquaphor Healing Ointment is a favorite of mine
My dry skin feels great after exfoliating & then baby oil.
Sunscreen is important even during the winter months. Eucerin is my favorite skin care product
I use aquaphor during the winter months for really dry skin.
Right before the cool weather kicks in I begin using Skinfix Barrier+ everyday to keep my face
fresh and protected all winter from our harsh weather. It’s amazing and worth the splurge cause
it really stretches out and lasts about 2 years for me.
My fave skin care tip is to use unscented moisturizer with natural ingredients. Use plenty of it as needed. Skin is precious.
My favorite winter skin care tip is to layer products, especially on my arms and legs. First i apply lotion, then i seal it in with a thin layer of petroleum jelly, and finally i dap a little perfume or spray body spray where I just applied the petroleum jelly. The lotion moisturizes, the petroleum jelly creates a barrier to keep the moisture locked in and it helps the fragrance last longer.
I like using lotion and primer serum.
During the winter sunscreen and shea butter works pretty good.
I try to use hand lotion at least 3 times a day.
I always love a good body scrub during the winter with followed by great moisturizing treatment! Thanks so much for the chance to win.
I really love Kristen Ess haircare products at Target, which are rather budget friendly. I always have a terrible time with tangles in the winter due to all of the jackets and hoods etc. They have a great conditioner.
My favorite winter tip is to moisturize with lotion and wear moisturizing lip gloss.
There is a local farmers market where I get goats milk lotion – and it really keeps me hydrated
Keep lip balm in your pocket and apply apply apply! Also right before bed.
A lip balm and a very rich moisturizer.
Stay hydrated and moisturize.
I live in Florida. So, my routine is the same throughout the year. Once a week, I do hair removal, peel-off mask, clay mask, a scrub, and anti-aging moisturizer several times a day.
I’m not brand-loyal. I buy whatever brand with good reviews that is running on a good sale. I do prefer a product with retinol.
Always wash your makeup off before bed, with cold water.
I was my face and moisturize twice a day.
I like cerave moisturizer.
I have used and love the Global Beauty Care Micellar Wipes
I try to stay consistent with using the same brands/
It’s very important to wear lotion and moisturizer to prevent dry skin.
Moisturizer
Daily moisturizer with sunscreen, hand lotion and lip balm help dry skin everywhere in the cold weather months.
I apply hand lotion to my hands, and use lip balm on my lips to help with getting through Winter. Thanks and God bless!
I use Byoma Moisturizing Gel Creamint in the winter. It’s affordable and great.
Chapstick is my go to during the winter months. My lips will get so chapped if I am not prepared. I am not sure what I would recommend that is cost friendly for other people, but I am looking for a low cost product that helps with dry skin on the face.
I always moisturize as part of my skin routine. I try to pick a facial moisturizer with spf.
I like any product by Cereve.
Moisturizer and always protect your face from the cold wind when outside!
I use lotion and hydrating cream.
Global beauty care is a brand i trust and use more often. Theyre products really work wonders and more.
A hydrating lip mask and chapstick!
I like to use Burt’s Bees Beeswax lipbalm and Eucerin advanced repair hand cream.
To use sunscreen daily. I am a redhead & still get burnt in the winter months too.
