I’m always looking for ways to make my breastfeeding and pumping go further. I want to create as much of a stockpile as I can to make sure my baby always has food while I’m at work and make it as convenient to prepare as possible.
I came across the Fairhaven Health website and wish I’d found it sooner! They have so many great products from fertility all the way to breastfeeding/Women’s products. It’s a treasure trove of products that make the soon to be mom or new mom’s life easier. These are the products that you might not put on your registry, but trust me you will definitely use more than that wipe warmer (mom tip: you probably won’t use the wipe warmer)!
Since I’m a new momma, I decided to try some of their breastfeeding products. First off was the Milkies brand Milk Saver. This product simple goes inside your bra to collect all of the milk that might otherwise soak into nursing pads or, unfortunately, your T-shirt! This product is perfect for that engorged stage shortly after giving birth. I remember sleeping on a towel and wanting it to be over as soon as possible!
In the beginning when you’re trying to get regulated with all of that, it can be hard to control leaking and also hard to maintain a good supply for baby. This product is so easy to use and is a great way to save what might be lost for your little one. I also suggest putting this on one side of your bra while baby nurses the other – then you’re feeding baby now while saving some for later. It’s a win-win!
I also tried the Milkie Milk Trays which can go hand in hand (boob-in-boob??) with the milk you get from your milk saver! These are SO simple. Simply use them like ice trays except for breastmilk! Each cube perfectly holds 1 ounce of breast milk that universally fits into any bottle top which you can then reheat for baby.
This is such a great eco-friendly solution to all of those milk storage bags and can also come in handy when baby starts eating solid foods. We hope to make a lot of our own pureed food for our little one and can’t wait to try these out for that as well! For now, we really love making milk-sicles which are absolutely amazing for teething little ones and a great way to keep baby cool in the Summer time.
I would definitely recommend both products and love the ingenuity behind them. I love that both products are insanely reusable and thus eco-friendly and simple/easy to use.
