Pain Management- Getting Ahead of Breast Cancer

October 4, 2022 by Juliann Leave a Comment

Breast cancer pain can be categorized into two types: acute and chronic. Acute breast cancer pain is usually experienced during the first few weeks of diagnosis. Chronic breast cancer pain is more common in the later stages of the disease.

A study found that women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer are more likely to experience chronic pain than those who have not been diagnosed with breast cancer. The study also found that women who had undergone chemotherapy were at a higher risk of experiencing chronic pain too.

It is important to lower your pain levels so that you can improve your quality of life and live in a better manner. Here are some ways for you to deal with breast cancer pain.

1. Meditation

Meditation is the practice of sitting still and focusing on one’s breath and thoughts. It has been a practice for thousands of years, with the earliest evidence dating back to the second millennium BCE.

Deep breathing is done by taking slow deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. The slower you breathe, the more relaxed you will feel. Slow deep breaths also help to lower blood pressure and heart rate.

Yoga is a physical exercise that promotes flexibility and strength in both body and mind. Yoga focuses on bringing awareness to your body by being mindful of your movements as well as your breathing patterns. Yoga can be practiced at any time or place, with no equipment needed for most poses.

2. Cannabis

Medical marijuana has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments. More recently, it has been studied as a way to improve quality of life, and even as a treatment for cancer pain. It is essential to note that some weed strains are better for pain management than others, so anyone who is looking to use this for targeted pain relief, will need to do their research so they are not wasting their money on ones that aren’t as effective.

Many studies showed the medical benefits of cannabis. A study conducted in 2019 showed that breast cancer patients that used cannabis regularly showed a better level of pain tolerance than when they first got diagnosed. It is important to use good quality cannabis to help you with your pain. You can search for lowpricebud online in order to help you find some high-quality strains that will help with pain. Just make sure that you get an Indica strain in order to help you relax and wind down.

3. Tai Chi and Qi Gong Exercises

Tai chi and Qi Gong exercises are both forms of moving meditation. They can help people to reduce pain levels, become more relaxed, and have a calmer mind.

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice that involves slow movements that use breathing to focus on certain points of the body to stimulate the flow of qi (chi). It has been used for over 5000 years in China as a form of medicine, mental discipline, and spiritual cultivation. Many patients report an increase in pain tolerance with constant practice.

4. Acupressure Massage

A study found that acupressure massage can reduce stress levels. This is because it stimulates the body’s natural painkillers and releases endorphins. Acupressure points are usually located on the feet, hands, and ears.

Acupressure massage is a type of pressure point therapy that has been in practice for centuries. It’s based on the belief that pressure applied to certain points in the body can encourage healing and reduce pain. The theory behind this therapy is that our bodies are filled with channels or meridians through which energy flows. If these channels are blocked by tension or injury, then they may not flow as freely as they should, causing pain or illness to develop. Many breast cancer patients take regular appointments for acupressure in order to help them relax their bodies.

It is important to find certain ways in order to help you alleviate your pain. Use this list to help you become stronger and happier while dealing with breast cancer.
